Bard
Base Class: Bard

Students of the College of Color are often the bards that slip under the radar. Rather than musical talent, these bard artist that have discovered the hidden magics in paints and fabric. These bards are able to weave a symphony of color as where words might fail. The method of casting magic is varied, but the only necessary component is color. Most bards in the College of Color can appear meek or avoidant, but if you disrupt their works of art, their works of art can disrupt you. It is unconfirmed but it is said that a Kobold of Yeltic was the first to discover the magic in the ink. Her knowledge began to spread over time and just as there are wizarding colleges, there are now art institutions spread throughout the world. Artist that study under this College are able to bring out the truest potential of their works by taping into primordial elemental magic. Each color has a secret effect hidden inside. This is truly a unique form of magic.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Color at 3rd level, you gain
proficiency in Painter’s Supplies, Shields, and two skills
of your choice.

Iridescent Palette

Iridescent Palette
3rd-level College of Color feature
You are able to use your wide palette of art supplies to
bring to life the energies imbued in art. As an action,
you may use your artist tools to sketch out an effect.

Depending on the color used the painting will cause the
corresponding elemental type as seen in the chart
below.

Palette Colors
Medium’s Color - Damage Type
Red - Fire
Orange - Acid
Yellow - Lightning or Thunder
Green - Poison
Blue - Cold
Purple - Psychic
Black - Necrotic
White - Radiant

Attacking Palette
If used as an attack, the art can be
directed at an enemy within 30 feet of you. Make a
ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 1d8
elemental damage. You have the choice of choosing the
color of the spell, or you can roll a d8. The form the
attack takes depends on what you paint. It could be
anything from a simple blast of fire, to a flurry of
poisonous flowers. your imagination is your limit.

This ability’s damage increases by 1d8 when you
reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level
(4d8).

Outside of Combat
Your Iridescent Palette can be
used outside of combat to cause small elemental effects.
You could start a small fire with red, you could put out a
small fire with blue, you could create a strange oder
with Green, or even alter the color of an item with
Purple. These effects are meant to be small changes in
the environment, so if you get creative be sure to
confirm it is okay with your Game

Armor of Rainbows

Whenever you give a creature a Bardic Inspiration
die, you can splash a bit of color their way. Doing so
gives the creature temporary resistance to one of the
elements depending on its corresponding color in the
Palette Colors chart. this effect last until the creature
uses this resistance, or they use their Bardic Inspiration.

Off The Canvas

As an action, you can weave color together to create a
Large or smaller creature of your own design. The
colorful creature uses the Living Artwork stat block,
which uses your proficiency bonus (PB). The artwork is
friendly to you and your companions and obeys your
commands. It lives for 1 hour, until it is reduced to 0 hit
points, or until you die.
In combat, the artwork shares your initiative count,
but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move
and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it
takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a
bonus action on your turn to command it to take
another action. That action can be one in its stat block
or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the
artwork can take any action of its choice, not just
Dodge.
When you use your Bardic Inspiration feature, you
can command the artwork as part of the same bonus
action you use for Bardic Inspiration. Once you create
an artwork with this feature, you can’t do so again until
you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of
3rd level or higher to use this feature again. You can
have only one living artwork at a time with this feature;
if you use this action and already have a living artwork
from this feature, the first one immediately shreds.

Colorful Symphony

When you use your Off the Canvas feature, you can
create more than one artwork at once. The number of
artworks equals your Charisma modifier (minimum of
two works of art). If you create an artwork that would
exceed that number, you choose which of the previously
created works disappear. Only one of these items can be
of the maximum size you can create; the rest must be
Small or Tiny.

If you use Colorful Symphony to create 3 or more
artworks, your Painter’s Tools will be depleted,
requiring you to get more for 10gp.
I recommend holding multiple Painter’s Tools.
