Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

As your fighting skills have developed, you've begun to grasp the power that fear has in combat. Through a masterful control of your own fear and the exploitation of the fear of your enemies, you become a force of horror on the battlefield.

Fight or Flight

Starting at 3rd level, you have learned to control and take advantage of your own fear in the midst of combat. If you take any damage before the start of one of your turns, you can choose to activate either the Fight or Flight option at the start of your turn.

If you choose Fight, all weapon attacks you make until the end of your turn deal an extra 1d6 damage of the weapon's type, but your speed is reduced to 0 and you cannot benefit from any bonuses to your speed. This d6 becomes a d8 at 10th level, and a d10 at 18th level.

If you choose Flight, your movement speed is doubled until the end of your turn if you do not attack on your turn when Flight is active.

You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses upon finishing a short or long rest.

Frightening Aura

Starting at 3rd level, your insight into the nature of fear enhances your ability to intimidate others. You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill, or another Fighter skill if you are already proficient in Intimidation.

Burst of Fear

Starting at 7th level, you've learned to frighten enemies with even the smallest movements. As a bonus action, you can make some movement, gesture, or other visual cue that inspires fear in creatures around you.

Every creature of your choice that can see you must make a Wisdom saving throw against your save DC (8 + Charisma Modifier + Proficiency Bonus). Any creature who fails this save is frightened of you for 1 minute. A creature frightened of you in this way can repeat the save to shake off the effects at the end of its turn, ending the effect on a success.

Additionally, if a creature is frightened of you, you have advantage on the first attack roll you make against that creature on your turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to 2 + your Charisma modifier, and you regain all expended uses upon finishing a short or long rest.

Improved Fight or Flight

Starting at 10th level, you have further honed the use of your own fear during combat. The damage die from the Fight option of Fight or Flight is upgraded from 1d6 to 1d8. When you choose the Flight option, you also do not provoke any attacks of opportunity on your turn.

Strike of Fear

Starting at 10th level, your knowledge of fear allows you to exploit your enemies' fear of you in combat. Whenever you hit a creature that is frightened with an attack, you deal an additional 2d8 psychic damage.

You can now activate the effects of Burst of Fear when you score a critical hit without expending a use of Burst of Fear.

Unwavering Fright

Starting at 15th level, you have finally mastered control over your fear, allowing you to maintain your focus even against the most frightening foes. While you can still be given the frightened condition, its normal restrictions no longer apply to you. While you are frightened in this way, you can activate the Fight or Flight ability without needing to take damage before your turn or expending a use of the ability.

Mastered Fight or Flight

Starting at 18th level, you have reached a deep understanding of your own fear and can utilize it to devastating potential. The damage die from the Fight option of Fight or Flight is upgraded from 1d8 to 1d10. Additionally, you now can receive the speed bonus of the Flight option and take the Attack action, but you still provoke opportunity attacks if you choose to attack.

Overwhelming Terror

Starting at 18th level, your mastery of fear is so overwhelming that you can shake the resolve of even the mightiest of foes. You ignore creatures' immunity to the frightened condition, although such creatures make their wisdom saving throws against your frightening effects with advantage. Additionally, any creature with advantage on a saving throw against your frightening effects that does not have immunity to the frightened condition can no longer benefit from said advantage.
