Base Class: Monk
A monk class that focuses on allowing one's own soul to reach out and connect to the world and the creatures around him. To be able to ascertain the secrets of their opponents, to expend spiritual energy into their targets and do destructive damage or to understand what they are capable of and utilize their weaknesses to their advantage. The Way of the Open Soul allows the monk to strike beyond basic physical means and do significant damage to the creature from the inside. By damaging the creature's mental state or disheartening their morale by striking their mind and soul.
Soul Strike
Starting at 3rd level, you may expend a Ki point to deliver a blow that seems to travel through the targets armor and other defenses, magical or otherwise. Your next unarmed strike gains advantage on the attack roll and should you hit deal an additional 1D6 force damage.
This Feature increases in strength at higher levels. At level 6 it becomes 2D6 Force damage and again at 12th level to 3D6 Force damage.
Starting at 5th level, when you hit with this strike, you may learn one thing about the target (i.e vulnerabilities, resistances, saving throws). You may ask the DM and they will provide you the information.
Soul Disruption
1 Ki Point: Your next unarmed strike hits suddenly with a force that ripples through the target, disorientating them. Until your next turn they have disadvantage on attack rolls against you and all saving throws.
Soul Absorption
Starting at 11th level you gain the ability to extract the essence of your targets own spiritual energy. You may spend 1 ki point and until your next turn, all unarmed strikes you make heals yourself for 1D8 plus your Dex or STR modifier. Does not work on constructs and if the target is undead, you instead take 1D8 Necrotic damage.
Soul Destruction
5 Ki Points. At 17th level, you are a master of your own Soul's energy. Empowering your strikes even further than before. You surround yourself with intense spiritual energy emanating from with yourself. For one Round, each unarmed strike you make add your Wisdom Modifier to the attack roll and each Successful Strike deals 4D8 Force Damage.
