Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Iron Mountain are dedicated to the art of physical strength, flexibility, and resilience. While not focused as much on delicate technique, Iron Mountain monks train their bodies to withstand intolerable punishment and deliver crippling blows to their opponents. Those that master these techniques often exceed the normal bounds of physical limits.
Iron Mountain Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to enhance your body to survive large amounts of punishment. Whenever you use Patient Defense or Step of the Wind, you can choose to gain one of the following effects:
- You have resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing until the start of your next turn
- You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your strength modifier until the start of your next turn
- You have advantage on ability checks and saving throws to resist being grappled, restrained, forcibly moved, or knocked prone.
Fists of Steel
When you reach 6th level, your unarmed strikes become as hard as steel. When making an unarmed strike, your unarmed damage dice increases to a D8, the die becomes a d10 at 11th level, and a d12 at 17th level.
Also you can choose to deal slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning damage with your unarmed strikes.
Iron Body
Beginning at 11th level whenever you are hit by a melee attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d10+your constitution modifier + half your monk level.
If you reduce the damage to 0, you may spend 1 ki point to make an unarmed melee attack against the attacking creature as part of the same reaction if it is within range.
Body Conditioning
At 17th level you have prepared your body for peak performance. Increase your strength, dexterity, and constitution scores by 2. Additionally your maximum for those scores is now 22.

Posted Aug 10, 2022Cool subclass.
Approved for use by my DM.
The changes this subclass makes do not affect the character sheet except listing them as descriptions in the Features and Traits section. Sad Monkey.
Iron Mountain Technique - would be better if it had a place in my Actions box with a floating popup, but clicking to open the sidebar dialogue is okay. Right now, it's buried under Features & Traits, so you have to tab over if you are using a VTT and want to show them proper die rolls.
The Fists of Steel aspect - not working.
Body of Steel ability - not working.
Body Conditioning - nope, not that one, either.
