Base Class: Paladin
Oath of Inner Flame
A paladin who takes up the Oath of Inner Flame values freedom and personal power above all else. Many paladins aim to uphold the laws of the land, to keep order, however a paladin of the Oath of Inner Flame seeks to challenge authority. They seek to incite rebellion wherever they see it necessary, stoking people's hearts to break oppression, and encourage the meek to take hold of their own; individual power.
These paladins are often painted as villains by governments due to their vigilantism and disruption of the peace. They are infamous for being troublemakers and aggressively combating authority, so it's not fully unfounded. However, these paladins are often the only ones left who'll fight for the oppressed in corrupt systems.
"Who decided that you are my master? Who declared that I am bound by your will?! I am the master of my fate! I am bound by no will but my own! If you think you can quell my flame then I welcome you to join the wretched pyre made by those who tried before!"
~ The Emberwood Knight to a very foolish Elder Brain.
Inner Flame Tenets
Flame Unbound: You are the master of your fate. Your power is your own. Never let someone decide how to live your life.
Fight for What You Believe: A soldier may fight and die not knowing why, but you will refuse to do the same. You will fight the wars you choose to fight and die for the causes you believe in.
Test the Virtues of Order: There is a difference between peaceful order and crushing oppression, but not everyone sees it. You will challenge the powers that be, even if it makes you out to be the villain.
Lawful Does Not Mean Right: Do not be fooled by the people of order who claim only the lawful are righteous. What is lawful is not always right.
