Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

You are possessed by an uncontrollable urge to enter the fray of combat whenever it occurs. Whether this comes from the specter of a warrior taking hold over you, your bloodline being tied back to the heroic plane of Ysgard, or some other combative origin, you have always had a natural way with weapons. With these powers, you are able to combine your spellcasting and weapon fighting to pose a deadly challenge to all who oppose you.

Natural Battler

Starting at 1st level, fighting with weapons and armor becomes natural to you. You gain proficiency with light armor, all simple weapons, the shortsword, scimitar, and rapier.

Additionally, if you're proficient with a simple or martial melee weapon, you can use it as your spellcasting focus for your sorcerer spells.

Combative Cantrips

Starting at 1st level, you can cast cantrips in a variety of ways that complement your fighting style. Whenever you finish a long rest, choose one of the two following fighting styles to gain use of until the end of your next long rest:

  • When you are wielding a melee weapon you are proficient with in one hand and no other weapon, and hit with a melee weapon attack, you may afterwards and during the same turn use your bonus action to cast a sorcerer cantrip you know with a casting time of 1 action. Any damage caused by a cantrip cast in this way is halved. This option counts as gaining the dueling option from the Fighting Style feature (you cannot choose this option if you have the dueling Fighting Style)
  • Whenever you wielding two melee weapons you are proficient with, one in each hand, and are hit by weapon or spell attack, you may use your reaction to cast a sorcerer cantrip you know with a casting time of 1 action or bonus action if you hit with a melee weapon attack during your previous turn (or this turn if it's your turn). Any damage caused by a cantrip cast in this way is halved. This option counts as gaining the two-weapon fighting option from the Fighting Style feature (you cannot choose this option if you have the two-weapon fighting Fighting Style).

When you reach 14th level in this class, damage from cantrips cast using either option are no longer halved.

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action during your turn.

The Fury Within

Starting at 14th level, you can briefly enter a state of spellcasting and weapon fighting fury. When you choose to enter this state at the beginning of your turn, until the end of your turn whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack using a weapon you're proficient with, you can expend a spell slot of 1st or 2nd level to cast a sorcerer spell you know of corresponding level that has a casting time of an action or bonus action and that only targets the hit creature. If the spell requires a melee or ranged spell attack roll, you have advantage on the roll.

When you reach 18th level in this class, the maximum level of the expended spell slot(s) increases to 3rd level.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

The Warrior Never Rests

Starting at 18th level, whenever you take damage that would reduce you to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction and spend 5 sorcery points to instead be reduced to 1 hit point.
