Ready for anything, prepared to fight at a moment's notice, those who follow the Way of the Readied Defender are experts at improvised combat. Trained to jump to their feet the moment a fight breaks out, or quelching it before it begins, they are experts of improvised combat and unconventional weapons.

Improvised Master

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you are proficient with improvised weaponry, such as a broken bottle, a chair, or even a door. Additionally, you may add half of your proficiency bonus to any weapon you are not proficient with.

Careful Awareness

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you become much harder to surprise. You now have expertise on perception checks.

Alert Initiative

At 6th level you are actively aware of your surroundings, and can see a fight before it begins. When you roll for initiative you may now add your Wisdom modifier to the roll.

Pained Aggression

Starting at 11th level, you become stronger the longer you fight. If you were to be reduced to less than half your health, you may take an additional attack on your turn.

Wild Wielder

At 17th level, you have practiced the use of improvised weaponry, and know how to inflict the most power into a single blow. When using improvised weaponry, you may add double your proficiency bonus to the damage.
