Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Those who follow this oath are committed to the use of wealth for the greater good. They give generously, and abhor frivolous expense. They seek to be economical with the money they use, so that they can give more later. They all share a general animosity towards the ultra-wealthy, viewing them as the most misguided and the most sinful. Despite this, many find it still worthwhile to try and convince the wealthy and aristocratic towards greater social welfare. Others see it as a lost cause, and seek to fulfill their ideal through less lawful means.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of Generosity Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Oath of Generosity Spells

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Hope - As a bonus action, for the next 1 minute, whenever you cast a spell that assists another friendly creature, remove one of their negative conditions, recover their HP, or give them the Help action, you gain temp HP equal to half your Paladin level (rounded up).

Weight of Sin -  As a bonus action, you radiate an aura that inflicts the weight of sin for 1 minute. Whenever a hostile creature damages or inflicts a negative condition on another creature within the aura, it suffers a 10ft reduction to its movement speed next turn.

Aura of Karma

Starting at 7th level, when you or a friendly creature within 10 ft takes damage from an enemy, the damaged creature can add your charisma bonus to its next damage roll on its turn. It can only benefit from this bonus once on its turn.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

The Balm of Kindness

Starting at 15th level, your generosity rewards you even further. You may hold a maximum number of generosities equal to your proficiency bonus, and you gain one generosity when you heal another creature for 5hp or more, end one of its negative conditions, grant another a positive effect through a spell, or donate 10% of your wealth to the needy. (Affecting multiple creatures at once is only 1 generosity generated.) You may expend 2 generosities to reroll a saving throw.

Avatar of Altruism

At 20th level, once per long rest, you can use an action to become an avatar of altruism for 1 minute, which gives you two benefits:

  • Whenever you gain benefits from a spell cast by another creature, the effects of that spell are doubled.
  • Whenever you hit a creature with an attack, you chip away at its power. It receives a stack of Fragmentation. Fragmentation causes the creature's damage rolls to be reduced by 2 until it completes a short rest.
  • Whenever you gain a generosity, you and the recipient of your generous action gain the effects of the sanctuary spell until the start of your next turn.
