Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

It takes a display of true commitment and passion for the destruction of evil to gain the eye of a god. One adventure in particular may be displaying those very traits when fighting the hoards of dragon cultists and chromatic dragons that worship the goddess Tiamat. This also may be an individual one least expects. As well as their active ability to smite evil, an individual who receives this blessing also needs to display the ability to grow as a compassionate soul, to also be willing to learn and be able to have faith even in the darkest hour that their god is with them always. One such soul, may then catch the gaze of Bahamut.

Devotion to the god of Metallic Dragon includes taking on his teachings, first and foremost he is a Good god. A good soul seek to rid the world of evil while also not succumbing to the ways of evil also. This means showing mercy to the misguided and offering a path of redemption through teachings and guidance, as well as being able to except surrender from even the most cruel enemy. To kill without true reason, especially if the evildoer has surrendered themselves peacefully, is to become the very evil the good gods are fighting to be rid of. But Bahamut is the god of justice and has links to the domain of war; yes, he does. Bahamut hates evil and those who perform acts of evil must always be punished for their ways, but the punishment must always fit the crime and if there is chance for good to grow from one who can learn from their evil mistakes then a chance must be given. Punishments could in clued being imprisoned within a cell guarded by a devoted worshiper of Bahamut, an ancient wrym perhaps who will watch over the prisoner for as long as it takes while they inscribe the dogma of Bahamut and his teachings into stone; Or a form of closely guarded community service to a temple of Bahamut. Death is nearly always the last resort, saved for those who have no hope of changing their ways and have fallen to far into the grips of evil. Even then it is to be as swift and merciful death as possible, with respects paid in the form of a prayer that their soul may be able to find peace now it free from the curse evil had placed upon it; a hopeful wish for redemption beyond the divine gate.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Abjure Enemy. As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a prayer of denunciation, using your Channel Divinity. Choose one creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless it is immune to being frightened. Fiends and undead have disadvantage on this saving throw.

On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. While frightened, the creature’s speed is 0, and it can’t benefit from any bonus to its speed.

On a successful save, the creature’s speed is halved for 1 minute or until the creature takes any damage.

Vow of Enmity. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of enmity against a creature you can see within 10 feet of you, using your Channel Divinity. You gain advantage on attack rolls against the creature for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 hit points or falls unconscious.

Relentless Sentinal

By 7th level, your supernatural focus helps you close off a foe’s retreat. When you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, the creature's speed becomes 0 for the rest of the turn. Creatures provoke opportunity attacks from you even if they take the Disengage action before leaving your reach and  when a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack against a target other than you (and that target doesn't have the Sentinel feat), you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacking creature.

Platinum scales

The paladin takes on a silvery sheen as patches of their skin takes on the appearance of softly glowing scales when attacked by enemy creatures. This grants the paladin a natural +2 to AC and induces disadvantage to creatures effected by your Vow of Enmity. They also gain a +1 to all saving throws.

Dragon Soul

At 20th level, you can assume the form of a golden dragon. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 hour, you gain the following benefits:

  • Golden dragon wings allow you a flying speed of 60ft
  • You again the Frightful Presence ability. Each creature of your choice that is within 120 feet of you and are aware of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
  • You gain weakening breath (Recharge 6). You exhale gas in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a Strength saving throw or have disadvantage on Strength-based attack rolls, Strength checks, and Strength saving throws for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
  • You gain 1 legendary resistance a day

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
