Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

From the pain of loss, Order of the Ashes Blood Hunters find their strength. Using their loss to empower themselves, these deadly hunters can seek vengeance against those who have wronged them. While hemomantic magic is still a focus of this order, a Blood Hunter trained in the ways of the Ash draw upon the power of emotions to imbue their magic with more potency.

Empowered Flame

When you join this order at 3rd level, you mark yourself with the ashes of those you have lost. This mark grants you powerful abilities in combat. When you activate your Rite of the Flame with a bonus action, you gain the following benefits for one minute or until your rite ends:

- 10 ft. of additional walking speed
- Ignore resistance to fire damage, and immunity becomes resistance.
- Advantage on Dexterity checks when a creature attempts to grapple or restrain you.

Power Through Loss

When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn to use your grief and anger to fuel your hemomancy. When you would take necrotic damage from activating a Crimson Rite, or when you empower a Blood Curse, this damage counts as psychic instead.

From the Ashes

Upon reaching 7th level, you gain the ability to take the embers of a creatures life and use it to sustain yourself. When you kill an enemy while your Rite of the Flame is active, you regain hit points equal to your Hemocraft die plus your Constitution modifier.

Embering Strikes

Upon reaching level 11, you gain the ability to use your loss to ignite embers on your blade, striking your foes with the firey pain of loss. When you hit a creature with an attack and your Rite of the Flame is active, you may choose to further ignite your blade, dealing 1d8 extra fire damage to the creature. This damage increases to 2d8 at level 15. You may use this feature an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus. This ability resets on a short or long rest.

Brand of Mourning

Starting at 15th level, your brand gains the ability to strike your emotions into the target. When you mark a creature with your Brand of Castigation, they must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Hemocraft DC. Upon failing, the target is filled with the power of your grief and anger, and is stunned for 1 minute. At the end of each of their turns they may make the saving throw again.

Ashen Warrior

Upon reaching 18th level, your Ashen Mark grows in strength. In addition to the original benefits, while your Ashen Mark is active, you gain the following:

- Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage
- Advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
- +2 to attack and damage rolls made with your melee weapon.
