The Way of the Giant Tree teaches its students to be one with nature, giving them unique abilities only granted by the Giant Tree located in the North-West of the Enchanted Rain Forest. Any kind of humanoid creatures, provided they dedicate themselves to this tradition,  can be tutored by creatures of their kind to feel the flow of the Giant Tree's magic and energy. 

Barks Robustness

Hard training provides you with the immense strength of the Giant Tree. Your hands and arms gain the robustness of tree bark, leaving you with the following benefits: 

  • You constitution ability score increases by 1
  • When you hit with you unarmed strike you can use 1 Ki-Point to deal an extra 1d4 bludgeoning damage, increasing at levels 9; 12; 16 and 19 to 1d6; 1d8; 1d10 and 1d12. 

 

Tree Climb

Connecting to the nature surrounding you, you just know which branch to grab an which not to. 

You can spend half your movement to climb up a tree at least one size larger than you. 

Magic of the Giant Tree

A bit of the Giant Trees magic flows into you, giving you the ability to cast Entangle as a bonus action once per long rest. Also you can spend 2 Ki-Points to cast Spike Growth without using material components as a bonus action. 

Whipping Twigs

As the energy of the Giant Tree flows more and more into you, you gain the ability to grow twigs out of your body. 

Your reach with unarmed strikes and monk weapons increase by 5 feet. Also you can spend 2 Ki-Points to increase your reach by additional 5 feet until the end of your turn. 

Tree Strider

The connection to you surroundings grows bigger, giving you the benefit of spending 4 Ki-Points to cast Tree Stride. 

Giant Tree´s Inspiration

Once per short rest, when you end you turn next to large or bigger tree, you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level. 

The Giant Tree Inside

Now, having fully connected to the Giant Tree, it gives you immense power. You gain the following benefits: 

  • In extension to your Tree Climb ability you can jump from tree to tree and walk the treetops without receiving a movement penalty. 
  • Concluding your hard physical training you constitution ability score increases by an extra 2
  • Once per long rest you can cast Wall of Thorns as a bonus action at 6th level without using material components. You can cast this spell at higher levels expending 2 Ki-Points for each level above 6th.
