Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

To be chosen by a being of great power, is not an uncommon path. To be chosen as their warrior, their weapon to wield at their enemies upon the mortal realm, that is less common. You are not held to sacred oaths or restrained to devout worship. You were chosen by this being for their own reasons. Perhaps your paths follow the same trajectory, perhaps it is simply a path you must follow to survive, or to gain justice.

A being who has chosen you as their Avatar will have their own connection to you. Some beings will speak directly to you. Some will send messages only you can read. Others will send symbols in nature, like lightning from the sky. Your connection with your being may not always be comfortable or trusting. But when you are sided together, the impact you can have in the world is great. Whether for good, or for evil. You are their tool, you have a choice in your actions, but to test a divine being is to test their wrath upon you.

As their Avatar, you are imbued with their strength, their power, and their wisdom. You gain a connection to divine powers which enhance your martial prowess, making you truly fearsome to behold in battle. Woe betide any creature who gets in the way of a Divine Avatar.

Rage of the Avatar

Your being enhances your ability to do damage to others, you gain their signature. When you rage you gain:

A bonus to damage when raging equal to half your level (rounded up), defined by the being that chooses you. When you strike another creature with an attack.

You also visually change to become their avatar, taking on characteristics of your being's will. You are their symbol. Their message, you will dress for the part.

Sense of the Avatar

Your senses are now honed to uproot evil, like an instinct, or an itch you cannot scratch. You can use this ability as an action to sense the alignment of creatures within 60ft of you until the end of the next turn, this will give you their exact positions. but evil within 1000 feet can be loosely detected. (How loosely, is at the DM's discretion or with the guidance of a wisdom check to see how keenly you sense this). You can use this ability as many times up to your Con modifier (minimum of 1).

Divine Aura

When you begin your rage, you and those within ten feet gain temporary hit points equal to your level. When you are hit by an enemy with an attack that targets you, they take equal damage to the temporary hit points lost. (The damage is defined by your being).

Gift of the Divine Prayer

As a ritual, at the end of a long rest, you can tap into your entity's divine power and pray for them to grant you power. You can then cast Divination, Remove Curse or Death Ward once.

Avatar of Divine Justice

When you fall to 0 hit points, you can roll a d20. If you roll 11 or higher first time, you come back to 1 hit point.

You will then come back with advantage on all attack rolls until the end of your next turn.

If you roll a natural 20 on the d20, you can return to life with up to half your hit dice rolled for health.
