Base Class: Rogue
Rumours describing living shadows are often derived from the abilities of deadly creatures, highly skilled assassins, nimble thieves and deformed undead spirits. However, few know the means to acquire the knowledge to manifest the power of shadows and control them. Although, there is no one true path in following the ways of the shadow. Some find the knowledge through deadly martial techniques in order to efficiently dispose of their enemies. Others become cursed by a powerful being or are bound by a symbiotic creature gaining the power to wield deathly shadows and masking their presence within the deepest reaches of darkness.
Dark Calling
As a shadow invoker, you can call upon the powers of darkness to traverse distances through dim shades or even manifest a doppelganger of yourself to aid you. The shadow becomes an extension of your very self, moving and acting in a manner identical to yours. The shadow becomes stronger alongside you, mimicking your every improvement and even well beyond that by master invokers. Some may even confuse the powers of a master invoker as sorcery by taking advantage of light sources to enhance their abilities.
Invoke Shadow. While you are in dim light or darkness. As a bonus action, you can manifest a shadow in your likeness within 30 feet of you. The shadow has a single hit point but shares your armour class, movement speed, stats and can trigger your Sneak Attack feature when it attacks. The shadow acts immediately after your turn Any creature can occupy the same space as the shadow, doing so renders the shadow unable to attack until that space is unoccupied or the shadow moves.
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can instead mentally command your shadow to attack a target within its range instead. The shadow deals your weapon damage as necrotic damage and also gains advantage on the attack. The shadow cannot manifest under sunlight and the shadow is also instantly destroyed while under direct sunlight, regardless if the sunlight is magical or otherwise.
