Base Class: Barbarian
Whether through experimentation, intervention, or ancestry, the primal rage within you has become so profound it has manifest into a dark and menacing entity. Lurking in the corner of your consciousness, the Abomination surfaces during moments of extreme stress, taking control of your mind and twisting it into a monstrous form. For most, the Abomination is something to be feared, a thing that if not suppressed, controlled, or destroyed, will one day take permanent hold and wreak unspeakable havoc on the world.
Bonus Proficiencies
Choose one intelligence ability to gain proficiency in and gain proficiency in one type of artisans tool of your choice.
The Abomination
When you enter a rage, you swap your intelligence and strength scores. You may choose the Abominations appearance.
Unstable Rage
When you take damage while raging, roll a D20. If you roll lower than your proficiency score, roll on the unstable rage table.
Brokered Assistance
You and the Abomination have learned to work together. While not raging, you may give yourself advantage on any strength check. While raging, you may give yourself advantage on any intelligence check. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Unstoppable
If you fail a saving throw while raging you may use your reaction to reroll it. You may use your strength score modifier instead. This feature can only be used once per rage.
Repressed intellect
At 14th level, your intelligence maximum is increased to 24.
Complete Control
At 14th level, before you make a death saving throw, you may instead choose to trigger option 99-100 on the unstable rage table. If you do, you regain 1 hit point, roll half of your remaining hit die, and gain temporary hp equal to the total, and stand up if youre prone. You can not use this feature if you are already under the effects of 99-100 on the unstable rage table.
I like this subclass, but there are a few problems:
1: Swapping intelligence with strength may sound interesting, but mechanically it sucks. Sometimes you won't have rages, and likely your intelligence sucks, unless you have been playing a very bad barbarian for the last 2 levels. Instead, allow players to add the INT mod to STR saves, skills, and attack damage.
2: The Unstable rage option 99-100, only being fixed by wish, is very very bad. Wish is not available until 17th level for full casters. Give players a wisdom saving throw at the end of each long rest instead.
this looks awsome
I really enjoy this subclass, it's helped for my golem races and half-titans, among many other races/subraces, thank you for making this subclass.
