Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of this tradition find new use for their ki. Instead of the elegance and transference of ones ki to a weapon, these monks transform ki into a more destructive form. They learn to form small compact explosions to deal as much damage to their enemies whilst finding better ways to maneuver the battlefield.

Force
Lightning
Necrotic
Poison
Psychic

Explosive Ki

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your new found abilities to infuse small objects with explosive energy. You can spend 1 Ki point and 1 minute to focus on an object or surface no bigger than a 2 cubic square feet and infuse it with explosive energy. You can spend your bonus action to activate an explosive device of your choice from within 30 feet.

When activated, creatures within range of the explosion must make a Dexterity Saving Throw against your Ki Save DC. On a fail, they take 2 martial arts die of fire damage and half as much on a success.

The distance to activate one of these explosion increases to 60 ft. at 8th level, 90 ft. at 12th level, 120 ft. at 16th level, and no limits at 20th level. The maximum number of object you can have prepared to detonate is half of your monk level (rounded down).

Kaboom!

At 6th level, you now learn how to further your explosive ki into ranged attacks. As an action, you can choose a creature within 60 ft. and expend at least 2 ki points to make a ranged attack at the creature (d20+Dex+ProfMod). On a hit, the target takes a d8 of fire damage for every 2 ki points spent on the attack.

The creature must then make a Strength Saving Throw against your Ki Save DC. On a fail, the creature is pushed 10ft. in the opposite direction of you. If they succeed, nothing happens.

Meteor Crash

At 11th Level, you gain the ability to cover yourself in explosive ki energy to launch yourself into the air and back to the ground creating an explosive impact. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to hurl yourself to a height 5x your monk level (minimum of 20ft.). You then choose a point you can see within 60ft. of your jumping point.

You then hurl yourself in that direction and upon impact, every creature in a 30ft. radius must make a Dexterity Saving Throw against your Ki Save DC. On a fail, they take 4d10 fire damage and a d6 of bludgeoning damage for every 10ft. you fell. On a success, they take half damage. You also take half the blugeoning damage rolled for this attack.

The distance to launch yourself to increases to 120ft. at 17th level

Hellfire

At 17th Level, you can now release all the explosive ki built up in your body. As an action and as long as you have at least 1 ki point, you can become a being of pure chaotic explosive energy. You gain the following effect:

 • All unarmed strikes now deal fire damage equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum 1).
 • All creatures with 10 ft. of you take fire damage equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum 1) at the start of your turn.
 • You are immune to fire damage.
 • You can now spend 4 ki points and pick a point you can see. You then release a barrage of explosive energy in the one point. Every creature within a 10ft. radius of the point must make a Constitution Saving Throw or take 10d10 fire damage and half as much on a success.

To maintain this form, you must have at least 1 ki point. If you maintain 1 ki point, this form will last for 1 minute. After 1 minute, you can not use any abilities in this subclass for 1 round and you gain 1 point of exhaustion as you try and regain your ki and strength.
