Base Class: Monk
Basic Training.
Beginning at 3rd level, students who are first starting out in the Way of the Portal are taught to generate small portals, only a foot or so in diameter, enough to stick a foot or hand in and thus, you no longer have to be close to an opponent to attack them. As an action, you can expend 1 Ki point to open a small portal next to you, opening within 5 feet of an enemy within 30ft. You may then make an attack roll with advantage through the portal to the enemy.
Redirect Attacks.
Starting at 6th level, you gain more knowledge in this art. Once they are more trained, students are taught to push their portals outwards, and to summon them quicker. Your max portal generation range increases to 50ft, and the max size of the portals you can create become 3ft by 3ft. Using this ability, when an enemy attempts an attack within 50ft of you (be it a spell, ranged or melee attack), you may expend 2 Ki points to use your reaction and redirect that attack, either back an enemy, or at a point within range. The attack automatically hits, as the creature was never expecting it, and if you redirected a spell that requires a saving throw, they immediately fail.
Portal Walking.
Starting at 11th level, you have become incredibly trained in this art, monks that reaches this level of control over their portals are considered veteran portal controllers. It is at this point that your portals become big enough for you or your allies to travel through. Now, the max size portal you can create is 10ft by 10ft. Your max portal generation range also is now increased to 100ft.
Interdimensional Portals.
Starting at 17th level, you are now so knowledgeable about the art of portals that you are considered a master. Now, your portals can extend out into separate dimensions. The range of your portals becomes infinite, your portals have no limit in terms of size and you are now able to open portals to travel interdimensionally, as if you cast Plane Shift, but as a portal. Additionally, you gain Low-Key Fall. This ability allows you to open a portal below a creature within range as an action, and send it to a pocket dimension where they will fall eternally. Or until you choose to open the portal and bring them back. When they come out of the portal back into the material plane, they take 10d6 bludgeoning damage. You may also decide to open a portal below any creature within range and just move them someplace else that you can think of. You are now also able to use your reaction to react to any opponent trying to move, or act, and use any of your abilities on them.
