Base Class: Warlock
This subclass is meant to operate as a ranged dps focus for warlocks.
Heart of Fire
- At 1st level, you gain the ability to speak, read, and write Ignan.
- At 1st level, you learn the Control Flames and Produce Flames cantrips. They count as warlock cantrips for you, but they don’t count against your number of cantrips known.
Hex of Ashes
- At 1st level, you gain the ability to channel the mysterious power of the phoenix into a torrid curse. The curse manifests a small spot of ash somewhere on the target. As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target is cursed for 1 minute. The curse ends early if the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated. Until the curse ends, you gain the following benefits:
- The target gains disadvantage on a saving throw of your choice
- On subsequent turns you may use your bonus action to deal fire damage equal to 1d6 + your charisma modifier. At 6th level the damage increases to 2d6. At 10th level damage increases to 3d6.
- If a curse target dies, you regain hit point equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier.
- You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.
Bathe in Flame
At 6th level, the power of the phoenix has conditioned your body to resist the consuming flames. You gain resistance to fire and radiant damage.
Ashes to Ashes
At 6th level, When a target affected by your hex of ashes dies you may move the hex to a new target.
Consuming Conflagration
- At 10th level, you learn the spell Fireball. It counts as a warlock spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of spells you know. You can also cast it one without a spell slot, and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.
- Additionally, when you cast a spell that deals fire damage you may ignore resistances to fire damage, and any creature with fire immunity is instead treated as having fire resistance.
Radiant Rebirth
At 14th level, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to drop to 1 hit point instead and cause your body to erupt with blazing flames. Each creature of your choice that is within 30 feet of you takes fire damage equal to 2d10 + your warlock. Each chosen creature must also make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save they are blinded until the end of your next turn. Once you use this reaction, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
