Base Class: Bard
A College of Mentalism bard, like all bards, enchant the minds of others and are capable of enabling great feats of virtue and demoralising opponents in equal measure. Where the College of Mentalism differs is that they tend toward subtlety in their endeavours, influencing others with a smile and a wink as often as notes played on a lute. When it comes to magic, their psychic abilities allow them to cast spells and inspire others by mere thought, mentally achieving what would take any other bard a stage and a song at the very least. Although still outstanding artists in their own right, a College of Mentalism bard truly knows the difference between a magical show, and a show of magic.
Psychic Cantrips
When you join the College of Mentalism at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with two cantrips from any spell list. These count as bard cantrips for you but don't count toward your cantrips known. Additionally, any bard cantrips you know that don't cause damage you may cast without components.
Subtle Magics
Also at 3rd level, you learn how to subtley manipulate your more powerful spells, casting them unseen by those around you. When you cast a bard spell, you may choose to do so without verbal or somatic components. You can do this an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest, unless you spend one use of your bardic inspiration feature instead.
You may also use an arcane focus for your bard spells instead of a musical instrument if you wish.
You may use your bardic inspiration feature on a creature you can see within 60 feet, not only on a creature that can hear you.
Additional Magical Secrets
At 6th level, you learn two spells of your choice from any class. A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip. The chosen spells count as bard spells for you but don’t count against the number of bard spells you know.
Master Mentalist
At 14th level you have become a true Master. You can concentrate on up to two spells that require it as long as their combined spell level is less than or equal to your proficiency modifier (cantrips count as level one for this purpose.) If you are forced to make a concentration save and fail during this time you lose both effects.
For example, if your proficiency modifier is +5, you could concentrate on a fourth level spell and a first level spell concurrently. As another example, you may hold concentration on a third level spell while you use the Ready action to concentrate on a second level spell you have yet to release.
