Base Class: Rogue
You have formed an innate connection with the Shadowfell and can manipulate the shadows to assist and protect you. Your bond with the shadows allows you to gather information from them, which increases your awareness of your surroundings and improves your ability to react to danger.
Shadowcraft
3rd-level Shadow Weaver feature
You have learned the basics of Shadowcraft, the art of conjuring and manipulating shadow material into tangible objects. You can use a bonus action to psychically pull wisps of shadow material from the Shadowfell into an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you and weave them into a tangible, nonmagical object known as a shadow construct. Your shadow construct requires concentration to maintain, is solid, lightweight, and appears as an opaque silhouette. It can only have the form and statistics of one of the following objects of your choice:
- Any basic one-handed melee weapon with which you are proficient.
- Any basic weapon weapon with the thrown property with which you are proficient.
- A piece of any simple ammunition used by a ranged weapon with which you are proficient.
- Any simple shape that can fit within a 5-foot cube.
When your shadow construct is in the form of a material item, its weight is half the material version's weight. If it is in the form of a one-handed melee weapon, it has the finesse and light properties, and if it is in the form of any ammunition or thrown weapon, it has its range doubled. Attacking with your shadow construct deals an additional 1d4 psychic damage on a hit, and if you make an attack with your shadow construct against a target that is in dim light or darkness, you make the attack roll with advantage.
Your shadow construct is tethered to you through your connection to the Shadowfell. If you are more than 1200 feet from it, your shadow construct is instantly recalled to your nearest unoccupied space. You may also recall your shadow construct at will during your turn to an unoccupied space of your choice within 5 feet of you. A shadow construct cannot be created or recalled inside or surrounding an unwilling creature.
Your shadow construct vanishes at your command, when you create another shadow construct, or when you are no longer concentrating on maintaining it.
Umbral Awareness
3rd-level Shadow Weaver feature
You are able to receive information from the shadows via extrasensory means. They help you paint a mental picture of your surroundings in the dark and alert you of impending threats.
You gain darkvision out to a range of 120 ft. and you can see in magical darkness the same way you see in nonmagical darkness.
You can sense changes in the shadows to predict when you are in imminent danger and summon the shadows to your defense. Just before you take damage, you can use your reaction to shroud yourself in darkness until the start of your next turn. This umbral veil moves with you and provides you with 3/4 cover (+5 to AC and Dexterity saves) and resistance to radiant damage. You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Shadowcraft Artisan
9th-level Shadow Weaver feature
You have learned to become more adept with your Shadowcraft. You can now have up to two shadow constructs at the same time, and you have advantage on Constitution saving throws made to maintain them. Each construct requires a bonus action to create it, but the concentration needed to maintain them is shared. Your shadow constructs can also take the additional forms and statistics of:
- Any basic one-handed melee weapon.
- Any basic weapon with the thrown property.
- A piece of any simple ammunition.
- A basic shield.
- Any basic tool or utility item that can be formed as one piece with no moving parts that fits in a 5-foot cube, such as a crowbar, grappling hook, hammer, knife, lock pick, mining pick, shovel, etc.
Your ability to create an item has no effect on your proficiency with it.
The additional psychic damage on attacks made with your shadow constructs is increased to 2d4, and attacks with them gain a +1 bonus to the attack roll and are now considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Whispers in the Dark
13th-level Shadow Weaver feature
You have become more proficient with your Umbral Awareness, which allows you to receive more information from the shadows and grants you the following benefits:
- You can't be surprised.
- You gain a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier.
- Other creatures don't gain advantage on attack rolls against you as a result of being unseen by you.
- You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to notice hidden or invisible creatures, traps and other dangers within the range of your darkvision.
Shadowcraft Master
17th-level Shadow Weaver feature
You have learned to master your Shadowcraft. You can have up to three shadow constructs at the same time. Each requires its own bonus action to create, but they no longer require concentration to maintain. They can take the additional forms and statistics of:
- Any basic two-handed melee weapon.
- Any shape or object that can be formed as one piece with no moving parts and can fit inside a 10-foot cube.
A shadow construct in the form of a two-handed melee weapon has the finesse property and does not have the heavy property, even if its material counterpart does.
The additional psychic damage on attacks made with your shadow constructs is increased to 3d4, and the attack bonus is increased to +2.
You are now proficient with any weapon you create through Shadowcraft.
You also learn the Creation spell and can cast it once requiring no components or spell slots. Anything you create with this spell takes the place of one of your available shadow constructs, and you must finish a long rest before you can cast it this way again.
