Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Totem Chicken is a spiritual journey, as the barbarian accepts the spirits of poultry as guide, protector, and inspiration. In battle, your totem chicken spirit fills you with supernatural might, adding magical fuel to your barbarian rage. Adorned in feathers, Barbarians of the Path of the Totem Chicken fight with the ferocity and deliciousness of domesticated fowl.
Mother Hen
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, spectral chickens appear when you enter your rage. While you’re raging, the first creature you hit with an attack on your turn becomes the target of the chickens, which hinder its attacks. Until the start of your next turn, that target has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn’t against you, and when the target hits a creature other than you with an attack, that creature has resistance to the damage dealt by the attack. The effect on the target ends early if your rage ends.
Bird-Brain
Yours is a path that seeks attunement with the natural world, giving you a kinship with beasts of avian nature. At 3rd level when you adopt this path, you gain the ability to cast the beast sense and speak with animals spells, but only as rituals, as described in the Spellcasting section. The targets of these spells must be birds.
Pecking Order
Beginning at 6th level, you are empowered with the spirit of the most healthy and robust chicken of the flock, giving you first claim to food and opportunities. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Constitution modifier.
Chicken Soup For The Soul
At 10th level, you can cast the commune with nature spell, but only as a ritual. As a part of this ritual you must consume some form of chicken soup or broth. When you do so, a spiritual chicken appears to you to convey the information you seek.
Chicken With Its Head Cut Off
At 14th level, you gain the unpredictable ferocity and senses of a chicken whose head has been chopped off. While raging, you have blindsight up to 10 feet. Additionally, when you use the relentless rage feature to avoid falling below 1 hit point, as a reaction, you may move up to your movement speed and make one reckless attack. You may take this reaction once per combat.

Posted Jul 19, 2021Wow, thanks so much haha! I'll definitely take that into consideration and maybe update after talking to my player! Personally, I'd love to give that grapple feature a name akin to "Ain't No Cluckhold" XD
I'll workshop it!

Posted Jul 18, 2021This is hilarious *and* useful. Well done.
As chickens are very nimble and hard to catch (as Rocky Balboa can attest), I suggest adding advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks and Strength saving throws made to avoid or escape a grapple while raging. (Perhaps as a second Pecking Order benefit).
