Base Class: Monk
Monks that follow The Way Of The Swiftblade have trained with all kinds of bladed weapons. With the speed of their attacks and the power of a sword, they use quick flurries of slashes to cut up their opponents and use their Ki to strengthen their blows.
Sword of the Four Elements
When you reach 6th level, you will have mastered the ability to use an ability similar to the Way of the Four Elements. When you make an attack with one of your Swiftblade weapons, you may choose to add a Sword Discipline to that attack, using up your Ki points.
Sword of the Fire Snake. You may spend 2 Ki points to engulf your blade in flame. Doing so adds an extra 2d4 fire damage to your next 2 attacks, afterwards the fire extinguishes. The fire also extinguishes after a minute. You may choose to spend an extra 2 Ki points after dealing damage to create a large snake made of fire that jumps up to 3 extra creatures you choose. the next creature must be within 10 feet of each other. Creatures effected by this will take 1d10 fire damage instead of 2d4, including the original.
Sword of the Flowing Lake. You may spend 3 Ki points to create a water trail behind your blade. You then spin around, making attack rolls on all creatures within 5ft of you. This does an extra 1d6 slashing damage on a hit. You may spend another Ki point to only hit selected creatures, and you can spend another Ki point to increase to 2d6 slashing damage.
Sword of the Cracking Earth. You may spend 3 Ki points to plunge your blade into the ground after your strike. 4 cracks come out of the ground in each direction of you for 15 feet. Creatures standing on the cracks must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity check or take 1d6 Bludgeoning damage and fall prone. after that, the cracks will become rough terrain.
Sword of the Stinging Air. You may spend 3 Ki points to make 2 extra attacks. the original and the 2 extra attacks will do an extra 2d6 slashing damage and have a range of 10ft. The attacks also push back the targeted creatures 5ft.
Swiftblade Teachings
When getting this feature at 11th level, you will:
- Learn 2 maneuvers from the fighter class
- Use Ki points to deal an extra d6 damage of your weapon's damage type (d6 for every 2 Ki points used)
- Add an extra 10 ft with your dash action, but only if it ends at a creature. You then attack that creature.
You learn an extra maneuver at 13th level, 16th level, and 19th level.
