Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

A code of honor defines the Oath of Brotherhood - to serve and be served in return.

(That’s a gender-neutral term, by the way. Doesn’t matter what you identify as, you can still be a bro.)

Mutual Respect. Ensure that those around you are treated well. There is no shaming amongst bros.

Mutual Service. Your strength must be used to uplift others. Don’t leave a bro hanging.

Mutual Protection. If you cannot keep your friends safe, you have failed your duty. Have your bro’s back.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Crusader's Mantle is unavailable for legal reasons.

Paladin Level Spells
3 heroism, shield of faith
5 enhance ability, warding bond
9 crusader’s mantle, mass healing word
13 freedom of movement, Otiluke’s resilient sphere
17 hold monster, mass cure wounds

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

  • Fist Bump. As a bonus action, you can offer a fist bump to a willing creature within 5 feet of yourself. If the creature uses its reaction to return the gesture, you can expend your Channel Divinity with a surge of pride. For 1 minute, both you and your target gain a 1d4 bonus to attack rolls.

  • Take the Fall. When you fail an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can expend your Channel Divinity as a reaction, bolstering an ally’s perception of their own abilities. The target gains advantage on the next attack roll, ability check, or saving throw they make within the next minute.

Aura of Camaraderie

Starting at 7th level, when a creature within 10 feet of yourself would be targeted by an attack or spell, you can use your reaction to switch places with the target, if it is willing. When you do so, the attack or spell is forced to target yourself instead.

At 18th level, this range increases to 30 feet.

Tavern Crawler

At 15th level, the many nights spent deepening the bonds of brotherhood have left you with a deep appreciation for your liver. You gain immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Brotherhood of Arms

At 20th level, you gain the ability to encourage your comrades with the bonds of brotherhood. As an action, you can embody the spirit of brotherhood, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • When a creature within 30 feet takes damage, you can grant the target resistance to the triggering damage. You take necrotic damage equal to half the damage taken, which cannot be reduced or resisted in any way.
  • When a creature within 30 feet fails a saving throw, you can reroll it using your own modifier.
  • You get a special reaction that you can take once on every creature’s turn, except your turn. You can use this special reaction only to use your Aura of Camaraderie, and you can’t use it on the same turn that you take your normal reaction.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
