Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

With his ascension to godhood, Asmodeus has begun to amass a following who pray to him for power.  But Asmodeus knows the flaws of divinely granted gifts and the entities such as Zargon who can turn those powers against their wielders.  While he has allowed the creation of a clerical hierarchy, he trusts those who have signed pacts with him.  But people have expectations of the power of the clergy, and warlocks do not match that expectation.  Therefore Asmodeus has forged a new pact with those who wish to serve him as his core clergy.

Becoming a Priest of Asmodeus brings power, privilege, and wealth; it only costs your soul.

Dark One’s Blessing

Starting at 1st level, the Priest of Asmodeus learns the Thaumaturgy cantrip.  They add Bless and Cure Wound to their known spells, which act as warlock spells for them.  They can use each of these once without using a spell slot and regain this ability after a long rest.  They also learn how to cast the Ceremony spell as a ritual.  They do not gain any other ritual abilities unless they take the Pact of the Tome.

Ring of Hellfire

At 6th level, the Priest of Asmodeus channels Hellfire from the Ninth Ring of Hell with their master's permission.  Once per long rest, you can create a circle of hellfire to a distance of 15 feet (30-foot diameter) around you for 5 minutes.

When you invoke this power, you can designate any number of creatures you can see unaffected by it. An affected creature's speed is halved in the area, and when the creature enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creatures take 1d8 fire damage for each spell level possessed by the warlock. Unlike normal flames, creatures resistant to fire take full damage, and creatures immune to fire are instead considered only resistant to fire.  On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.

Fiendish Resilience

Starting at 10th level, you can choose one damage type when you finish a short or long rest. You gain resistance to that damage type until you choose a different one with this feature. Damage from magical weapons or silver weapons ignores this resistance.

Avatar of Hell

Starting at 10th level, you can take on the powers of Asmodeus's infernal horde.  For ten minutes, you gain the following benefits.

  • Darkvision to 120 feet; it can penetrate magical darkness.
  • Damage Resistance: Cold; Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks that are not Silvered
  • Damage Immunity: Fire and Poison
  • Telepathy 120 ft.
  • Magic Resistance
  • Flight 60 ft.
  • Hurl Flame. Bonus Action.  Ranged Spell Attack, range 150 ft., one target. Damage: 1d6/spell level Fire damage. If the target is a flammable object that isn't being worn or carried, it also catches fire.
  • Fiendish Charm. Bonus Action. One humanoid the Warlock can see within 30 feet of it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw versus the Warlock's spell save or be magically charmed for 1 day. The charmed target obeys the Warlock's spoken commands. If the target suffers any harm from the Warlock or another creature or receives a suicidal command from the Warlock, the target can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a target’s saving throw is successful, or if the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Warlock's Fiendish Charm for the next 24 hours.
  • Fiendish Blessing. The AC of the Warlock includes its Charisma bonus.
