Base Class: Artificer
When hunting giant monsters, your choice of equipment is important. Gear for survival, mobility, and support can all make or break an expedition. But all the preparation in the world can’t help you if your weapons aren’t big enough to deal damage!
This subclass was created as part of the Subclasseptember 2022 challenge!
Gigaweapon Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Gigaweapon Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.
Licensed spells are unavailable for legal reasons. Look for a feat called "DNDBeyond Won't Let Me Have Illegal Spell Lists" to rectify this.

Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with smith’s tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
Gigaweapon Wielder
When you reach 3rd level, your combat training and your experiments have allowed you to create a Gigaweapon, an unstable combination of magic, technology, and weaponry to maximize raw power. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can combine a number of melee weapons up to your proficiency bonus, transforming them into a single Gigaweapon. The exact process of creating your Gigaweapon is known only to yourself, and its use is nearly impossible for someone unfamiliar with its creation; creatures other than yourself do not add their proficiency bonus to attacks made with your Gigaweapon. Your Gigaweapon lasts until you finish a long rest, after which it separates back into its component weapons unless you remake it. However, only the component weapons count as weapons for the purposes of your infusions.
You have proficiency with your Gigaweapon, including any weapons that comprise it. When you make an attack using your Gigaweapon, you can use your Intelligence modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls.
When you make an attack using your Gigaweapon, you can choose for the weapon to act as any of its component weapons. Regardless of which component weapons you are using, the Gigaweapon has the two-handed property. Attacks made with your Gigaweapon deal an additional damage dice of damage. If you make an attack using a component weapon that would normally only require one hand, it adds two additional damage dice instead.
Gears of War
Finally, when you first make an attack using your Gigaweapon each turn, you can activate one of the following Gears until the end of the turn:
Chainblade Gear
Attacks made with your Gigaweapon gain 30 feet of reach.
Earthmaul Gear
Attacks made with your Gigaweapon explode with force, dealing damage equal to your ability score modifier to other creatures within 5 feet of your target.
Homerun Gear
The first time you hit a creature with your Gigaweapon, you can force the target to make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, it is forcibly moved up to 15 feet away from yourself.
Jetboost Gear
Directly before or after making an attack with your Gigaweapon, you can move up to half your movement speed. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Shellsmash Gear
The first time you hit a creature with your Gigaweapon, you can force the target to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, attacks made against it have advantage until the start of your next turn.
Vanguard Gear
You gain temporary hit points equal to 1d10 + your Intelligence modifier + your Artificer level.
You can use Gears a number of times equal to your Intelligence bonus (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Extra Attack
Starting at 5th level, you can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Refined Gigaweapon
At 9th level, you learn how to harmonize your artificer infusions to allow each of them to function within a single Gigaweapon. Each of the component weapons of your Gigaweapon contribute their infusions and other magic abilities to all weapons within your Gigaweapon. If your Gigaweapon has multiple bonuses to attack and damage rolls, only the highest bonus to attack and damage rolls is added; any additional bonuses to attack and damage rolls grant an additional use of your Gears instead.
In addition, if any magic weapons within your Gigaweapon require attunement, they count as a single item for the purposes of your attunement.
Omegastrike
Starting at 15th level, you can unleash an ultimate, desperate attack with every piece of your Gigaweapon. As an action, you can make a single attack with each component weapon of your Gigaweapon. You can also activate a different Gear for each of these attacks without expending a use of your Gears.
Once your use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
