Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Blue Veil learn to attune themselves to the energies of the multiverse. They are planes walkers, individuals that are focused on the greater scope of the planes and maintaining a balance between them. However, when balance is not an option, they  bring their skill and finely honed abilities to quickly end the threat.

Those that that follow this path are usually taught by another individual that walks the Way of the Blue Veil, permanent monasteries are the antithesis of what it means to walk the planes. An initiate will often be left on a particular plane to train and master themselves, with their teacher checking in periodically on their pupil.

Masters of the Way of the Blue Veil often concern themselves with plane shaking threats, helping to maintain a balance amongst the cosmic forces that exist. Some particular religious Monks may even find themselves in the service of a deity or particularly powerful extraplanar entity.

Ki Step

As part of your movement at 3rd level, you may spend a Ki point and teleport to another empty space you can see within your normal movement distance. Using Ki Step does not provoke attacks of opportunity. You may freely choose to break up your movement between regular movement and Ki Step. Additionally, you may spend an another Ki point to use the Dash granted by your Step of the Wind as extra movement.

Traveler of the Planes

At 3rd level, you learn one language of your choice. You also become proficient in the Arcana and Religion skills.

Additionally you suffer no harm from being in a hot or cold environment. You can exist comfortably in conditions between –50 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit without having to make Fortitude saves. This protection does not extend to your equipment.

You do not have any special protection from fire or cold damage, nor do you have any special protection against other environmental hazards such as smoke, lack of air, and so forth.

Displacement Warp

At 6th level, after you've touched a willing ally or attacked an enemy, you can spend a Ki Point and force that creature to make a Wisdom saving throw (the target can choose to fail), or the target is teleported to an unoccupied space of your choice within the range of your Ki Step. Using this ability uses up the distance of your Ki Step as if you've teleported yourself. If the target fails and is teleported, you can spend an additional Ki point and choose to teleport with them at no additional cost of your Ki Step.

The chosen space must be on a surface or in a liquid that can support the teleported creatures without the creatures having to squeeze.

If the target of you your Displacement Warp is stunned by your Stunning Strike class feature they have disadvantage on their Wisdom saving throw against this ability.

Ethereal Step

At 11th level, you learn to step through the Ethereal Plane. As an action, you can spend 4 Ki Points to cast the etherealness spell. As a reaction you may end the spell at any time.

At 13th level after you've cast the etherealness spell you may use your action and spend 3 additional Ki points to move between the material and ethereal planes. You must spend 3 ki points during every transition.

At 15th level you may spend 2 ki points per attack and have your unarmed attacks effect creatures on the material plane why you are on the ethereal plane.

Improved Ki Step

At 11th level the base distance you can teleport with your Ki Step is now doubled.

Walking the Blue Veil

Upon reaching 17th level, you’ve gained a mastery and understanding of the energies in the cosmos and know how to plot your journey among them. Once per long rest you may cast one of the following spells without the need for material components;  Dream of the Blue Veil, Teleport and Plane Shift. If you target only yourself the casting time is reduced to 1 Action, the duration is instantaneous, and there is no chance for error. If you target additional creatures, you follow the spells description as written.

If you are visiting a plane for the first time and choose not to use the material components for Dream of the Blue Veil or Plane Shift, you are transported to highest concentration of life; often, but not always, a large hub city such as the City of Brass on the Plane of Fire, Waterdeep in Faerun or Sharn in Eberron. If it is a plane you are familiar with, you may appear at location of your choosing on that plane which you have visited before.

Magic that would prevent divination spells also protect against the use of this ability. You must make a Wisdom Saving throw against the DC of the spell or ability protecting the area, failure means you and anyone traveling with you appears at a random location within 1 mile of the destination. If there is no place to teleport within 1 mile this ability fails and you must take a long rest before you can try again.

At level 18, when you gain the Monks Empty Body feature it only takes 4 Ki points to cast Astral Projection and you may ignore the restrictions on taking people with you. However, if you choose to cast Astral Projection and only target yourself the casting time is reduced from 1 hour to 1 Action. Additionally, if you are ever in danger of having your silver cord cut you may use your reaction to instantly return to your body to avoid instant death.

At level 20 while you are unconscious because of you casting Astral Projection with ki points you are still considered aware of your surroundings and are considered to have blind-sight out to 60 feet while under the spells effect. You may immediately end the effects of any Astral Projection you cast at no cost and return to your body, anyone traveling with you is also returned to their body.
