Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You have learned some cosmic truth which has scared you forever. This knowledge may have been whispered to you by a forgotten God, or you found a tome of secrets which has been burned into the back of your eye lids. There is only one thing to do when you learn something so terrible about the universe: Rage.

Path of Hideous Madness Barbarians use what they have learned to strike fear and madness into their enemies. After all, knowledge is power.

Hideous Whisper

At 3rd level, While raging, you can whisper the hideous truth to those who must listen. If a creature starts its turn grappled by you during your rage, The creature must make a Wisdom Saving throw against your Madness Save DC or be frightened. If the grapple ends, the creature is no longer frightened. The frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the start of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Your Madness Save DC is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence Modifier.

Sacrifice Flesh

At 6th level, you learn of a way to turn flesh into possibility. As an action on your turn, you can deal 1d6 + your constitution modifier in Necrotic damage to yourself. You gain a bonus to the next ability check or attack roll you make; the bonus equals the damage dealt.

Alternatively, if a creature of at least mild threat (DM’s discretion) within 5ft of you is frightened by you and you use this feature, you can force the creature to make a Charisma Saving Throw against your Madness Save DC or take the damage for you. A creature is immune to this effect if it is a construct.

You can take this action an amount of times equal to your intelligence modifier, regaining all uses when you finish a long rest.

Additionally, your ability to mold flesh gives you access to the Alter Self spell Once per day. Casting Alter Self in this way increases the duration to 8 hours, and you can concentrate on this spell while raging.

Eldritch Laughter

At 10th level, when you rage, you burst with eldritch laughter. While raging, You can cast the Hideous Laughter spell as a part of that bonus action, without needing to concentrate on the spell. The DC for this spell is your Madness Save DC. While raging, you can cast the spell as a bonus action on subsequent turns without any consideration penalty.

Transmissible Madness

At 14th level, your Eldritch laughter is contagious. If a creature of your choice starts its turn within 5 ft of another creature under a Hideous Laughter spell you cast, the spell is also cast on them.
