Expanded Spell List

The Soul Eater lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Siphon

Your touch absorbs a part of your victim's soul. Make a melee spell attack against a living foe. On a hit, the target takes 1d8+CHA necrotic damage. You heal for half of the damage dealt, drawing strength from their lifeforce. This damage cannot be healed except by a long rest. Siphon has no effect on constructs, undead, or creatures immune to necrotic damage. The corruption of such an evil act has a detrimental effect on your own lifeforce: Souleaters that use this ability cannot regain hitpoints by any means other than Siphon until the end of a Long Rest.

The damage from this attack increases at level 5 (2d8), level 11 (3d8), and level 17 (4d8).

Soul Thief

Death is no end to your enemy's torment, you have the power to devour the souls of the recently departed. When a living creature dies within 10 feet of you, as a reaction you can steal and devour their soul. Additionally, creatures killed by your Siphon are automatically devoured. You may devour a maximum number of souls equal to your proficiency bonus.

While you have the souls of the deceased contained within you, the sliver of vitality that clings to the soul grants temporary hitpoints equal to your casting modifier and advantage on Constitution saving throws.

Consume a soul to add a d6 to a skill check.

Corrupting Siphon

You have learned to use your own lifeforce to enhance your Siphon's power. Once per turn, you may add one hit die from your pool to the damage of your Siphon.

In addition, once per long rest as an action you may consume one of the souls you have devoured to regain half your level rounded up of hit dice.

Cling to Life

You cling tenaciously to the life that you steal from others. Once per long rest, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you automatically absorb health from the nearest living creature within 10 feet of you. Deal 1d4 necrotic damage to the closest living creature of your choice within range and heal for the damage dealt. Alternatively, you may consume a soul you have devoured to immediately regain 1d8 plus your casting modifier in hit points. In addition, your exposure to the corrupting influence of your patron has granted you a measure of protection: you become resistant to necrotic damage.

This ability has no effect on undead or constructs.

Soul Feast

Your patron hungers. As a bonus action, you gain immunity to necrotic and radiant damage for one minute and the range of Soul Thief extends to 30 feet. In addition your spells that deal necrotic damage bypass resistance and also become siphons, healing you for half the damage they deal. You may use this ability once per short rest.

Your necrotic spells do not siphon creatures that do not have souls, such as undead and constructs.
