Bard
Base Class: Bard

A College of Harmony and Discord bard strives to make their friends and audiences happier, and do their best to make their enemies and competition less-so. Intrinsic to their capabilities is their ability to affect the natural resonances and dissonances in the bodies and minds of their targets. Much of their power is focused through this understanding of harmony and dissonance, pulling from one to bolster the other. Their magics can even heighten the natural discourse or resonance deep in a creature's soul.

Increased Resonance and Dissonance

Using a bonus action, you can expend a use of bardic inspiration to increase the harmony or dissonance of the energies in a target's body. The target is given one of two effects, Heightened Harmony or Inflamed Dissonance, for a number of rounds equal to the number rolled on your bardic inspiration die.

Heightened Resonance. The target's natural resonance is heightened, bringing their bodies functions momentarily back to normal. Choose one disease or condition affecting the target. The effects of that disease or condition are suspended for a number of rounds equal to the number rolled on your bardic inspiration die. The condition can be paralyzed, poisoned, blinded, or deafened. If this disease or condition has a duration, the use of Heightened Resonance pauses the duration while active, and the disease or condition cannot be cured while under the effects of Heightened Resonance. After Heightened Resonance ends, the condition or disease continues as normal.

Inflamed Dissonance. The target's mind is filled with dissonant thoughts. The target must make a wisdom saving throw equal to your spell save DC. On a failure, they are frightened of you for a number of rounds equal to the number rolled on your Bardic Inspiration die.

Duality of Sound

By changing the flow of energy in another being, you gain advantage in Persuasion and Intimidation checks when they are within 60 ft and you can see them.

Inner Peace

When you cast a spell that requires concentration, you can use a bonus action and expend a use of Bardic Inspiration to focus yourself. When you do so, the spell that was just cast does not require concentration for a number of rounds equal to the number rolled on your Bardic Inspiration die. Inner peace can only be used on one spell at a time. If you attempt to use it on another spell, you immediately lose concentration on the first spell.

Psychic Disruption

Once every long rest, you can disrupt the natural flow of energy through a target. One target must make a wisdom saving throw equal to your spell save DC.

On a failed save, the target takes 10d6 psychic damage. They also are affected by the Crown of Madness spell, without the need for concentration. This instance of Crown of Madness pierces immunity to charm.

On a successful save, the target takes half damage, and is not affected by Crown of Madness.
