Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

*This is the public version. This version does not link to the hex spell because it is not in the SRD.

Death Bringer rangers are no strangers to violence, murder, and death. Many Death Bringers serve or worship deities of death, such as the Raven Queen, and kill in their name. However, a few act on their own, and seek revenge on whoever wronged them.

Death Bringer Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Death Bringer Spells table. The spells count as ranger spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of ranger spells you know.

You can cast the false life and hex spells once each without using a spell slot. Once you cast a spell in this way, you can't cast that spell in this way again until the end of your next long rest.

Send to the Grave

At 3rd level, whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack using an action on your turn, you can take a bonus action to force a creature that you hit to make a Constitution saving throw against your ranger spell save DC. The creature takes necrotic damage equal to 1d6 + your ranger level on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The creature dies if this damage would leave it with 0 hit points.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1), and regain all expended uses at the end of each long rest.

Revel in Death

At 7th level, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a weapon attack, you can gain temporary hit points equal to your ranger level for 1 minute, and regain one expended use of your Send to the Grave feature.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and regain all expended uses at the end of each long rest

Inescapable Doom

At 11th level, when you deal necrotic damage to a creature using weapon attack, spell, or feature; you can expend one spell slot to deal additional necrotic damage to the creature. The extra damage is 1d6 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d6 for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d6.

Master of Death

At 15th level, your mastery of death allows all of your attacks to be supernaturally deadly. Whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack, the creature takes an extra 1d4 necrotic damage. In addition, your weapon attacks, spells, and features all ignore resistance to necrotic damage.
