Base Class: Ranger
Most desperate rangers in need of money turn to bounty hunting. Bounty Hunters are rangers whom opted to fight for civilization in another more profitable way. After the first few bounties, most realize melee makes the job very slow and most opt to learn ranged. Bounty hunters learn advanced ranged weapon techniques to quicken death to those who've caused it.
Basic Firearm Knowledge
Without much training, you know how to use firearms with basic knowledge. You gain proficiency with firearms.
Specialized Hunter
At 3rd level, you gain one of the following features of your choice.
Flaw Hunter
Many bounties you've taken were targeting heavily armored knights, you've learned to pick out flaws in their armor making your job a whole lot easier. If the creature you're trying to hit has a shield or heavy armor, once every turn you can roll a perception check to beat an AC 13, if passed, your ranged weapon's next hit is with advantage.
Inventive Pack Hunter
Hunting squads of warriors or packs of creatures has made you realize a more effective way to deal with them. Once a turn when you make a successful ranged weapon attack against a creature within 10ft of one or more creatures, you can choose to modify your bolt/bullet before firing to fragment mid-fire and hit the extra targets. Each target only takes 2 + DEX modifier damage instead of the original weapon's damage. If you crit, the shrapnel hits their legs, making them prone while still dealing the same damage (2 + DEX modifier).
Monster Hunter
You've taken plenty jobs with monstrously large creatures, so much so, you remember where vital organs are located in most large enemies. Once a large (or bigger) creature is in your line of sight, you can skip your turn to focus the creature. Focusing the creature means you aren't paying attention to anything else around you, causing AC rolls against you to be rolled with advantage. The next turn, you can roll your hit with advantage against your creature and when you hit with a ranged weapon attack, the creature takes an extra 3d4+DEX modifier damage.
Growing Expertise
In your field of work, hunters must learn fast to survive. You add +1 to your hit rolls made with ranged weapons.
Range Maestro
At 7th level, you gain one of the following features of your choice.
Expert Arbalest
Your common use in crossbows has made you an expert arbalest. You ignore the loading property of crossbows, ignore the 5 feet ranged weapon attack disadvantage with crossbows, and can dual wield all crossbows other than heavy crossbows. Dual wielding crossbows works the same as two weapon fighting but with ranged weapons. Reloading is now counted as a "free action" before your turn. Additionally, if your crossbow's hit roll crits the creature you hit is knocked prone.
Professional Marksman
Your habitual use of firearms has made you a professional marksman. You ignore the loading property of firearms, ignore the 5 feet ranged weapon attack disadvantage with firearms, and can dual wield all firearms other than ones that are two-handed. Dual wielding firearms works the same as two weapon fighting but with ranged weapons. Reloading is now counted as a "free action" before your turn. Additionally, if your firearm's hit roll crits the creature you hit is knocked prone.
Steel and Lead
Ranged weapon's don't suffice for you. After all, how are you supposed to attack a guy right in front of you with a musket? You can use a finesse weapon and an offhand firearm or crossbow to give your offhand ranged weapon proficiency bonus if you don't have two weapon fighting. Additionally, with your finesse weapon you have a +2 hit bonus.
You will have to manually add the hit bonus on your character sheet.
Defensive Tactics
At 11th level, you gain one of the following features of your choice.
Dodge
With countless failed assassinations, you've learned to dash out of the way of attacks. Use your reaction to try and dodge a melee or ranged weapon attack, halving the damage.
Hunter's Overpreparations
You didn't want to get hurt so you maxed out your defense. You gain proficiency with medium and heavy armor.
Perfect Parry
I guess steel did suffice and now you're learning defensive maneuvers with your handy oversized knife. As a reaction, and if the incoming attack is a melee attack, you can roll insight to beat a 15 AC. Failing will half the damage but passing will block all damage.
Turtleback
You're tired of always getting stabbed in the back while trying to get that perfect shot. Equipping a shield puts it on your back, removing the advantage creatures get when trying to attack you while focusing. Additionally, if a creature tries to attack you from behind you can add the shield's AC bonus.
Master Bounty Hunter
With your career flourishing, you've mastered your trade. You add another +1 to your hit rolls made with ranged weapons, along with Growing Expertise, in total you gain +2 to your hit rolls made with ranged weapons.
