Bard
Base Class: Bard

The College of Doom often finds its roots in lands that have experienced grave disasters in their distant past, or worlds that have prophesied such events in their near future.  Best known for their tragic tales and mournful dirges, these dreary bards specialize in curses, hexes, and other magic that embody the doom that pervades their creative endeavors.

Accursed Dirge

Your mournful dirges become infused with a powerful curse that, when heard by those of weak will, can cause them to succumb to their final fate.  As an action, choose a number of creatures within 60 feet of you that can hear you equal to your Charisma modifier and make a Charisma (Performance) check.  Each target must make a Constitution saving throw against your Bard spell save DC.  If your Charisma (Performance) check was a 20 or above, their saving throw has disadvantage.  On a failure, if the target has 40 hit points or fewer, it dies.  On a success, the dirge has no effect.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Wretched Curse

You learn the Bestow Curse spell if you don't already know it and it doesn't count against the number of Bard spells you know.  For you, Bestow Curse has a range of 30 feet, when you choose the nature of the curse, you can choose two options instead of one, and the Remove Curse spell can't end these effects.

Mockery of the Doomed

You learn to intuit your foes' anxieties and taunt them with the fates they most fear.  You learn the Vicious Mockery cantrip if you don't already know it, which doesn't count against the number of Bard cantrips you know.  For you, it deals additional psychic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

Bardic Hex

Your bardic magic takes a dark turn, allowing you to cast crippling hexes that tempt terrible fates.  As a bonus action, you can expend one Bardic Inspiration die to hex a creature you can see within 30 feet of you for the next minute.  You can only use one hex at a time.  The hex ends early if the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated.  Until the hex ends, the target suffers from an effect of your choice from the following list:

  • Whenever the target makes an attack roll they must subtract a number equal to half your Proficiency bonus, rounded down from the attack roll.
  • Whenever the target makes a saving throw roll they must subtract a number equal to half your Proficiency bonus, rounded down from the saving throw roll.
  • The target can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
  • The target's AC is reduced by a number equal to half your Proficiency bonus, rounded down.

If the Bardic Inspiration die expended to create the hex was a d8, choose two effects instead of one.  If it was a d10, choose three.  If it was a d12, choose four.
