Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards bring vibrance to a community in the form of art. Sometimes they weave words to inflame hearts and minds; other times, they spark joy with song and dance. Still others create murals, paintings, and graffiti alike to inspire emotion in the onlooker.

Lively Likeness

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with painter’s tools, and you can use painter’s tools as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

As a bonus action, you can spend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to summon a Paint Creature using your painter’s tools. You can command the summoned Paint Creature to move and take an action as part of the same bonus action used to summon it.

Your Paint Creatures share your initiative, acting at the end of your turn. Your Paint Creatures also automatically die at the start of your next turn, and provide special effects when they die. When you summon a Paint Creature, you can choose one of four colors to paint it in: Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow. Each of these colors grant a different ability to the Paint Creature, the statblock of which is listed here.

Fleeting. The Paint Creature dies at the start of your turn. When the Paint Creature dies, it uses an effect based on which color it was painted in - the Sapphire Elegy, Emerald Sonata, Scarlet Tango, or Amber Opera.

Actions

Paint On. Melee spell attack. +(your spell attack modifier) to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. On a hit, the target takes bludgeoning damage equal to your proficiency bonus, and the Paint Creature becomes stuck to the target, occupying the same space as the target. A creature can use its action to remove a Paint Creature from itself or another creature, making a Strength saving throw against your Bard spell save DC. The Paint Creature can choose for this attack to not deal damage, and this attack automatically hits a willing creature.

Sapphire Elegy (Blue Only). Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of the Blue Paint Creature becomes invisible until the end of your next turn, or until it attacks, deals damage, or forces a creature to make a saving throw. The Blue Paint Creature then dies.

Emerald Sonata (Green Only). Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of the Green Paint Creature gain 1d6 temporary hit points. The temporary hit points granted increases to 2d6 at 5th level, 3d6 at 11th level, and 4d6 at 17th level. The Green Paint Creature then dies.

Scarlet Tango (Red Only). Creatures within 5 feet of the Red Paint Creature must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Bard spell save DC or take 2d6 fire damage. This damage increases to 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 17th level. The Red Paint Creature then dies.

Amber Opera (Yellow Only). Creatures within 5 feet of the Yellow Paint Creature must make a Constitution saving throw against your Bard spell save DC. Creatures that fail this saving throw are restrained until the end of your next turn. The Yellow Paint Creature then dies.

Animated Performance

Your creations continue to create even in death. Starting at 6th level, you learn the minor illusion spell, and whenever one of your Paint Creatures dies, you can use your reaction to cast the minor illusion spell centered on its location.

Self-Portrait

At 14th level, you can create a lifelike likeness of yourself. As an action, you can make a special Paint Creature by painting yourself on a wall, floor, or other surface, without expending a use of your Bardic Inspiration. This special Paint Creature uses the Paint Creature statblock, but it lacks the Fleeting property, dying after 1 minute (or when you command it to) instead of at the start of your turn. When it dies, you can choose to appear in the nearest unoccupied space (no action required). While this Paint Creature is within 100 feet of you, you can use your action to see through its eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
