Monk
Base Class: Monk

While monks of every tradition strive for mastery over their physical form, honing their bodies into deadly weapons, and mastering ancient martial arts techniques, for others it isn’t something to attain, it is a necessity. They are lycanthropes, shapechangers, creatures whose lack of control over their body can cause destruction wherever they walk if not properly handled.

When a certain balance has been achieved however, through meditation and communing with the most primal parts of oneselves, these monks have a natural edge over others, as they have learnt to combine their mastery of ki with a ferocious drive that dwells within all creatures of wild heritage, but specially within lycanthropes.

Heightened Senses

Upon adopting this monastic tradition at 3rd level, you gain the aspects of the animal that lives in you. You may choose to gain minor physical traits associated with your chosen animal even while you aren’t transformed, such as a sudden growth of body hair or small horns; and you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Ki Fuelled Hybrid

Also at 3rd level, you can focus yourself into transforming into a hybrid of beast and humanoid, harnessing your ki to control it. As a bonus action on your turn, you may expend 1 ki point transform into a special hybrid form, and for 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • When you first enter the transformation, you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level + your Wisdom modifier.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal slashing or piercing damage instead.
  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from non-magical attacks not made with silvered weapons.
  • When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points or score a critical hit, you regain hit points equal to your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.
  • At 11th level, when you transform, you may become Large, and at 17th level, you may become Huge instead.

Natural Enhancements

At 6th level, the primal animal within you manifests even further, granting you the following benefits:

  • You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
  • While in your hybrid form, if you move at least 15 feet in a straight line toward a creature, you have advantage on the first unarmed strike you make against that creature.
  • While in your hybrid form, if a creature you can see hits you with an attack you can use your reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your Armor Class against that attack.

Voracious Strikes

Starting at 11th level, your attacks haemorrhage your victims, causing them to bleed profusely. At the beginning of its turn, if a creature was hit by two or more of your unarmed strikes, as long as those unarmed strikes dealt slashing or piercing damage, that creature takes additional damage of that type equal to one roll of your Martials Arts die + your Wisdom modifier and subtracts a d4 from the next attack roll, ability check or saving throw that it makes.

Bestial Mastery

By the time you’ve reached 17th level, you have attained perfect balance between the beast and the humanity in you. While in your hybrid form, you gain the following benefits:

  • Once per short or long rest, if you were to take damage that would reduce you to half of your hit points or less, you can use your reaction to gain temporary hit points equal to twice your level + your Wisdom modifier.
  • Creatures within 10 feet of you that aren’t immune to being frightened have disadvantage on all attack rolls that aren’t against you.
  • Once per short or long rest, if you were to be reduced to 0 hit points while in  your hybrid form, you may choose to drop to 1 hit point instead and gain temporary hit points equal to your level. Doing so ends your hybrid form.
