Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

Shadowhunters prefer to beat the demons at their own game—they can shapeshift into powerful demonic forms to unleash chaotic power. When their inner demon is unleashed, shadowhunters get access to incredibly destructive powers and increased health and movement speed.

Rite of the Piercer

When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of the Piercer as part of your Crimson Rite feature. When you activate the Rite of the Piercer, the extra damage dealt by your rite is piercing damage. Additionally, while that rite is active on your weapon, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to piercing damage.
  • Your speed increases by 10 feet.

Leaping Blow

Upon reaching 7th level, you can leap to a target up to 20 feet away and slash at the creature. The attack does 2d8 plus your Constitution modifier.

This feature can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus until it can be reset with a short or long rest. If you are not in combat, the attack automatically counts as a critical hit.

Brand of Demonic Impulse

Starting at 11th level, your Brand of Demonic Impulse exposes a flaw in your foe’s defense, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks. Whenever you hit a creature with a weapon for which you have an active crimson rite, you brand the creature with demonic energy. You can make one melee attack against the branded creature with your bonus action if you've attacked with your action this turn.

Blood Massacre

At 15th level, as an action, you summon negative blood energy to destroy all who oppose you. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on you must make a Constitution saving throw. A target takes 10d10 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. You can choose who is affected by this ability. You can use this ability once per long rest.

Rite Revival

Upon reaching 18th level, you learn to protect your fading life by reabsorbing the energy you feed to your weapons. If you have one or more crimson rites active and you are reduced to 0 hit points but don’t die outright, you can choose to have all your active crimson rites end and drop to 1 hit point instead.
