Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your mind plays host to a cacophony of voices; an otherworldly chorus; a never-ending argument. Whether consciously or not, you’ve entered into a pact with a truly enigmatic entity; a being of a thousand voices, who whispers to you an endless cycle of forbidden secrets, terrible truths and pointless chatter. These voices may be familiar to you, perhaps it is the voices of friends and family you hear; or perhaps the voices are strange and alien, whispering in a language you do not comprehend or could even begin to fathom.

Eldritch Envoy

Beginning at 1st level, you’ve gained the ability to communicate in strange and eldritch ways. You learn how to read, speak and write Deep Speech. In addition, you learn the message cantrip, which counts as a warlock spell for you and does not count against your total number of cantrips known. When you cast it, you can do so as a bonus action and it does not require any verbal, somatic or material components.

Guiding Whispers

Also at 1st level, the whispers within your mind help you avoid dangers and draw attention to things you’ve missed. Whenever you fail a Wisdom (Perception), Wisdom (Insight), or Intelligence (Investigation) check, or a Dexterity saving throw, you can choose to add your Charisma modifier to the total, potentially turning the roll into a success.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Intrusive Chatter

At 6th level, you can temporarily amplify the whispers inside your mind to wrack your foes with pain when they look upon you. As a bonus action, you can attempt to distort your presence with painful noise for 1 minute, until you are unconscious, or until you choose to end it as a bonus action. For the duration, whenever a creature attempts to harm you with an attack or a spell, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a different target within range, or the attack or spell is wasted.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Discordant Feedback

At 10th level, you can cause eldritch whispers to lash out at intrusions of your mind. You gain resistance to psychic damage. In addition, whenever a creature attempts to read your thoughts or communicate with you non-verbally, such as via telepathy, the message cantrip, or a sending spell, you can use your reaction to cause the attempt to automatically fail. When you do so, the creature that attempted to read your thoughts or communicate takes psychic damage equal to your warlock level plus your Charisma modifier.

Otherworldly Dissonance

At 14th level, you can unleash your patron’s otherworldly might in a discordant blast of sound. As an action, you can unleash a psychic barrage of dissonant screams, whispers and voices in a 60-foot cone originating from yourself. Each creature of your choice within the area must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 4d8 psychic damage and 4d8 thunder damage, and is deafened for 1 minute. While deafened in this way, a creature cannot communicate verbally or telepathically, or perform the verbal components of spells. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and isn’t deafened. A deafened creature can reroll its saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
