Bard
Base Class: Bard

While other bards usually devote their life to bringing joy to people’s lives or fascinate them with incredible displays of musical and other talents, the bards of the College of Requiems devote themselves to the soothing of dead spirits, or rousing them if necessary. Also called as Dirge Bards, these musicians deal with the forces of unlife, calming vengeful spirits, bolstering their allies with beneficial ghostly energies, or stirring primal horrors in their enemies hearts. Their voice can be a soothing requiem, a bolstering ballad, or a banshee’s terrifying scream. The souls of the departed who have been shepherded by these bards can show their gratitude in many ways, and are most often willing to jump into the fray when the bard is in dire need of help.

Remember the Fallen

When you join the College of Requiems at 3rd level, you gain the ability to invigorate your allies with the energies of unlife. Whenever you use your Song of Rest ability, allies who roll your Bardic Inspiration Die for extra healing also gain temporary Hit Points equal to the maximum number on your bardic inspiration dice.

Powers From Beyond

Bards from the College of Requiems gain necromantic knowledge from their kinship with the dead.

At 3rd level, you learn the False Life spell. You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Necromantic Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a bard spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of bard spells you know.

Necromantic spells

3rd: Gentle Repose

5th: Summon Undead

7th: Blight

9th: Danse Macabre

Dirge of Doom

At 6th level you learn to drive fear into your enemies with a terrifying song about death and the afterlife. As an action, you can force a number of enemies in a 60 foot radius to make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC, or become frightened of you for 1 minute on a failed save. The number of enemies you can target is equal to your proficiency bonus. If the target can see an undead creature who is friendly to you, they make this save with disadvantage. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this effect for 24 hours. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

Favored of the Dead

Starting at 14th level, when you, or a friendly undead creature reduce an enemy to 0 hit points, you regain an expended use of your bardic inspiration.
