Base Class: Monk
Muay Thai, the art of 8 limb combat. The absolute tank. You've trained ruthlessly to make your bones stronger than steel, are you even human anymore?
High Stance
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your skill in a duel is unmatched. As a bonus action you can activate the High Stance. While in the stance you gain these benefits against the creature you attacked on your last turn. The High Stance lasts for 1 minute and your speed is halved while in the stance.
- You gain resistance to melee bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage dealt by your target.
- You gain half cover from the creature.
- If the creature misses a melee attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to attempt clinch with the creature.
You can enter your stance a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. When expended you can instead enter it by expending 2 ki points. You regain all charges after a short rest.
Clinch
3rd level you learn how to fuel grappling with ki. As an action for 1 ki point you can enter a clinch with your a opponent, grappling them using your dexterity (acrobatics) instead of strength (athletics) like normal.
If the clinch succeeds instead of grappling them you instead pin the creature and yourself. While pinned in this way you can both use your unarmored strikes only against each other and the creature you grappled does so with disadvantage. The creature can also choose to use it's action to escape the pin, to do so it must succeed on a strength (athletics) or dexterity (acrobatics) check against yours.
Low kick
At 6th level, you gain learn how to use the low kick, a special attack. For 1 ki point you can make a special attack that deals 4 times your unarmed strike bludgeoning damage plus your dexterity modifier, crits on a 19-20 and knocks the target prone as long as they're not bigger than large.
At 11th level you can knock huge creatures prone.
At 17th level you can knock gargantuan creatures prone.
Improved Bone Density
At 6th level you now have resistance to bludgeoning damage.
Elbow Strike
At 11th level you can turn your flurry of blows into an elbow strike. If hit the target suffers your unarmed strike damage and must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your Wisdom save DC or get paralyzed for 1 round.
Lethwei
At 17th level, you've mastered muay thai to it's fullest extent and have moved on to learn different techniques. You've trained your skull to be capable of taking intense punishment, and can headbutt your enemies.
You can spend any amount of ki points and deal 1d10 damage to yourself for every ki point spent. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw against your wisdom save DC or take 5d10 damage for every ki point spent and be paralyzed for one round. Additionally, anything the target is wearing on it's head is cleaved in half. The creature takes no damage on a success.
If the creature is a size bigger than you, your dm decides if you can reach it's head or not. If the creature does not have a head it is immune to this attack.
