Bard
Base Class: Bard

As an opera singer, you are trained in the art of performing grandiose and emotional works of musical theater. You have a powerful voice and a flair for the dramatic, and you use your talents to entrance and inspire your audience.

Opera Training

3rd Level College of Opera feature

You have studied opera extensively and know how to use your voice to its fullest potential. You gain the following benefits:

  • Your singing voice is so powerful and emotive that it can be heard clearly up to 300 feet away, even in noisy environments.
  • You can use your action to sing a soothing aria. When you do so, choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you who can hear you, up to a maximum of your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). Each chosen creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature is calmed and has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, a creature is immune to this ability for 24 hours. You can use this ability once per short or long rest.

  • You can cast the speak with animals spell once per day as a 1st-level spell, using your singing voice to communicate with beasts.

Melodic Magic

3rd Level College of Opera feature

Your opera training has allowed you to infuse your spells with the power of your singing voice.

When you cast a spell that has a verbal component, you can use your singing voice instead of speaking the words. Additionally, you can use your Bardic Inspiration dice to add extra effects to your spells, you can choose to have the effects manifest through your singing voice. For example, you can use your Bardic Inspiration to add extra damage to a fire bolt spell, and have the fire bolt blast out of your mouth as a beam of flames when you sing the spell's incantation. The player character will roll the Bardic Inspiration die and add what is rolled for the extra damage.

Operatic Precision

6th Level College of Opera feature

Your opera training has honed your voice to a razor's edge, allowing you to use it as a weapon.

You can use your action to sing a high-pitched note that can shatter objects and stun your enemies. When you use this ability, choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you who can hear you, up to a maximum of your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). Each chosen creature takes 1d6 + Charisma modifier thunder damage. The damage die increases to 2d6 at level 10 and to 3d6 at level 14. Beginning at level 10, the chosen creatures must make a Constitution save against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the effected creatures are stunned until the start of your next turn.

Additionally, any object within 30 feet of you that is not being worn or carried and has a maximum hit point total of 5 or less is destroyed. You can use this ability once per short or long rest. At each of these levels, the ability would also affect objects with a higher maximum hit point total (10 at 10th level and 15 at 14th level). This would allow the Opera Singer to deal more damage and impact more objects as they gain higher levels.

Grand Finale

14th Level College of Opera feature

You can use your action to unleash a powerful and emotional opera performance that can inspire and enrapture your allies and demoralize your enemies. All allies within 60 feet of you who can hear you gain temporary hit points equal to your Bard level + your Charisma modifier. All enemies within 60 feet of you who can hear you have to make a Wisdom save against your spell save DC. On a failed save, they have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, those creatures are immune to this effect for 24 hours. You can use this ability once per long rest.
