Monk
Base Class: Monk

Focused on the stylings of an apex predator, Monk's that follow the Way of the Mantis use an aggressive approach to life and combat. They focus on refining their own Ki along with harnessing the Ki of their enemies. Monks practicing the Way of the Mantis are masters of unarmed strikes and redirecting the attacks of their enemies.

Natural Order

Starting when you follow the Way of the Mantis at level 3, your attunement to the natural order of the world helps you to focus your Ki.  You gain an additional 2 Ki points. Also, whenever an enemy within 30 feet of the Monk is reduced to 0 hit points, you can harness their Ki and regain 1 spent Ki point.

You gain an additional 2 Ki points at levels 7, 11, and 15.

Mantis Strike

When you choose this tradition at level 3, you master a precise attack focused on your opponent's vital spots. When you hit an opponent with your Flurry of Blows, you can deal additional damage equal to your proficiency bonus for each of the unarmed strikes.

Fluid Movements

When you reach 6th level, the circular movements of the Mantis inspire your defenses. When an opponent's melee weapon attack would hit you, you can spend 2 Ki to redirect the attack to another enemy within 10 feet of you or toward the ground as your reaction. As part of this effect, you also gain an extra 10 feet of movement speed and your movements do not provoke Opportunity Attacks until the end of your next turn.

Aggressive Approach

Starting at 11th level, your aggressive nature influences all you do. You gain proficiency with the Charisma (Intimidation) and Wisdom (Survival) skills. If you already have proficiency with either of these skills, you instead gain expertise in that skill. In addition, you can now strike three times with your Flurry of Blows instead two times.

Perfect Predator

At 17th level, your study of the Mantis has changed your spirit to match their predatory nature. You gain proficiency in the Dexterity (Stealth) skill. If you already have proficiency in this skill, you gain expertise. Additionally, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed and you can now use the Mantis Strike feature for every unarmed strike you make.
