Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

You were born during an auspicious time of great magical presence. The stars aligned, and through the shifting of the ley lines that run across the world, you have been saturated with tremendous arcane power. As such, you are able to easily call upon the invisible and ever-present veins of magic throughout the world to protect and embolden yourself.

Ley sorcerers often have a predisposition to conjuration magic; especially that of teleportation to other planes. This is likely due to the connection between ley lines and their unique ability to allow passageways into other planes of existence, and perhaps even other time periods and alternate realities.

Ley Magic

1st-level Ley Sorcery feature

You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Ley Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Ley Spells
SORCERER LEVEL SPELLS
1st magic missile, earth tremor
3rd arcanist's magic aura, locate object
5th sending, protection from energy
7th secret chest, locate creature
9th planar binding, teleportation circle

Lay of the Land

1st-level Ley Sorcery feature

You harness surrounding leyline energy to camouflage yourself and disappear from sight. As an action, you are able to go invisible for 10 minutes. This invisibility ends early if you cast a spell that requires concentration, or attack a creature.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

When you reach 3rd level in this class, you can also use this feature to target a number of willing creatures equal to your proficiency bonus.

Nexus of Energy

6th-level Ley Sorcery feature

You have tapped into the energy wells of the various ley lines that run across the world and have learned to use that energy to bolster your attacks. Once on your turn when you deal damage to a creature using a cantrip, you deal an extra 1d8 force damage. Additionally, you can choose to spend a number of sorcery points (up to a maximum of 3) to deal an additional 1d8 per sorcery point.

When you reach 12th level, the extra d8 damage increases to 2d8.

Arcane Weave

14th-level Ley Sorcery feature

You gain the ability to call on the arcane potential that suffuses you in order to defend and strengthen yourself. As a bonus action, you are able to use the intrinsic ley energy within you to form an arcane weave which lasts for up to 1 minute. While the weave is present, it absorbs all incoming damage. The weave is able to hold damage equal to twice your sorcerer level + your Charisma modifier. Once it has absorbed all the damage it can hold, you can expend the stored energy on your next turn. You can choose to either add the damage to your next damage roll, or absorb the energy to heal yourself for an equal amount of hit points.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend 5 sorcery points to use it again.

In addition, consult the Weave Dispositions table and choose or randomly determine a way your arcane weave takes form.

Weave Disposition
d6 DISPOSITION
1 Lace-like and floral.
2 Overlapping like a net.
3 Woven like thick yarn.
4 A sheer and silken veil.
5 An intricate latticework.
6 Spread out like a spider’s web.

Extraplanar Leap

18th-level Ley Sorcery feature

Additionally, you are are able to cast Plane Shift spell without requiring its components, so long as you have an item from the plane you can use instead. When cast in this way, instead of 8 creatures, you can only transport yourself and a number of creatures equal to your charisma modifier.

Once you use cast Plane Shift using this feature, you cannot use it again for 1d6 long rests.
