Base Class: Barbarian
Set a match to it all
A common skill many warriors of rage and wild abandon must learn is that of maintaining their states of mindless onslaught. Emotions, while a potent fuel source are often difficult to maintain for long periods of time. One who walks the path of ignition has learned to prolong their states of mad violence by, quite literally, keeping the fire roaring for as long as possible.
Chemical Overdrive
Starting when you pick this path at 3rd level, you may select one of the following elemental damage types: fire, acid, cold, necrotic, radiant, or poison. This will be referred from here on as your ‘Burn Type’. This element cannot be changed after choosing here.
Additionally, your rage is modified; from now on, when you spend one of your daily rages, you enter Ignition, this adds the following features:
- You are considered resistant to the damage of your Burn Type
- You constantly take 1d6 of your burn type’s damage at the start of your every turn; this damage increases to 1d8 at level 6, 1d10 at level 10, and 1d12 at level 14.
- All melee weapon attacks receive bonus damage equal to 1d6 of your burn type’s damage; this damage increases to 1d8 at level 6, 1d10 at level 10, and 1d12 at level 14.
- You gain 10 feet of extra movement when you are not wearing heavy armor, this is increased by another 10 feet at levels 6 and 14
Self-Immolation
Upon reaching level 6, once per round, while ignited, when you deal your burn type as damage to an enemy, you can move a second time this turn as if you haven’t already; if you attack before moving, dashing does not cost an action for you to use until the start of your next turn.
Cauterization
Upon Reaching 10 level, your immolation blocks all other perceptions of pain. Every round, while ignited, after taking your burn type from any source, all damage of your burn type now heals you for half of its total.
Sanguine Sparking
Upon reaching 14 level, the once searing pain has dulled to a dull thudding; select a second damage type listed in ‘Chemical Overdrive’, this second damage type will be referred to as your ‘Secondary Burn Type’.
While you are ignited:
- This secondary burn type is also treated as your burn type for the purposes of ‘Self-Immolation’ and ‘Cauterization’.
- You are resistant to your secondary burn type.
- When you deal rage damage it is dealt as your secondary burn type.
- You take damage equal to half of your Constitution modifier in your secondary burn type at the start of your every turn.
