Essence of Magic

2nd-level Order of the Weave feature

Starting at 2nd-level, as a bonus action you can tighten or loosen the weave in a 20-foot radius sphere around a location you can see within 100 feet, spreading through walls and around corners and lasting for for 1 minute.

Tighten

You tighten the weave of magic in the location, amplifying all magical effects within the area and that pass through the area. Offensive or manipulation spells gain a +2 bonus to their attack roll or impose a -4 penalty to their target's saving throws respectively, area spells have their radius increased by 50 percent, and other/utility spells have their effect amplified in some way determined by the DM if applicable.

Loosen

You loosen the weave of magic in the location, weakening all magical effects within the area and that pass through the area. Offensive or manipulation spells have -2 penalty to their attack roll or give a +4 bonus to their target's saving throws respectively, area spells have their radius decreased by 50 percent, and other/utility spells have their effect weakened in some way determined by the DM if applicable.

You cannot use this feature again until you have finished a short or long rest.

Deeper Knowledge

2nd-level Order of the Weave feature

Your unique insights into the nature of the arcane allows you to better judge and recognize magic around you. You can give yourself a bonus to arcana ability checks equal to your wisdom modifier.

Arcane Protection

6th-level Order of the Weave feature

You can protect yourself and others from harm by momentarily partially unravelling the weave. When you or a creature within 30 feet would be damaged by a spell, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your wizard level.

Once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.

Channel the Weave

10th-level Order of Scribes feature

Using your body as a conduit for raw magic, you can connect to the threads of the weave to amplify your spells. When you use your Essence of Magic feature to tighten the weave on an area you are within, you can cause yourself to be Restrained for the duration (except you do not have disadvantage on spell attacks) to allow you to reroll any number of damage dice for your spells, but each time you reroll a die past the first per spell, you take force damage equal to the new roll of that die which cannot be reduced, prevented, or redirected in any way. This effect ends when your Essence of Magic feature does, if you choose to end it as an action, or if you drop to 0 hp.

Unrestricted Power

14th-level Order of the Weave feature

Your connection to the weave allows you cast more advanced magic than most other spellcasters by bypassing the limits imposed by Mystra to prevent another spellplague. When you cast a spell of levels 6th, 7th, or 8th, they are considered to be upcast as one level higher.

In addition, once you reach level 20 in this class, if none of your spell slots are currently empty, you can expend all of your spell slots at once to cast a spell as if it were 9th-level, with all effects, damage, targets, radii, duration, etc. doubled, at the DM's discretion. Afterwards, you cannot cast spells aside from cantrips or regain spell slots for a month.

You can protect yourself and others from harm by momentarily partially unravelling the weave. When you or a creature within 30 feet would be damaged by a spell, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to half your wizard level, rounded down.

You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
