College of Flames

Bards of the College of Flames seek stories of ruin and rebirth, both drawn on from the power of fire. These bards have harnessed the magic of the elemental plane of fire to enhance their ability to support their allies, guiding the world to a better tomorrow, and becoming a legend in their own right, by harnessing the element that both creates and destroys.

Bonus Spells

3rd-level College of Flames feature

You channel your inner fire to protect you in moments of need. You learn the fire bolt cantrip, which doesn’t count against the number of bard cantrips you know. In addition, you can cast hellish rebuke at second level once per long rest without expending a spell slot. You may use spell slots to cast this spell as well. 

Passionate Flames

3rd-level College of Flames feature

You implore your allies to strike with the intent to destroy and vanquish their foes with flames.

When you give someone a bardic inspiration, they may add the bardic inspiration die to the next damage roll they make. The additional damage is considered fire damage. This does not expend the use of the bardic inspiration.

Burning Dread

6th-level College of Flames feature 

Your connection to the plane of fire has afforded you the ability to create a wave of energy to protect yourself from the world's many hostile forces. 

As a bonus action, you can expend a bardic inspiration die to create a 10ft sphere of intense heat centered on yourself. Any creature within that range must make a Constitution Saving throw equal to your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature suffers fire damage equal to 3 rolls of your bardic inspiration dice, or half as much on a successful one.

Heatproof

6th-level College of Flames feature

You become immune to the effects of extreme heat and biting cold. In addition, you gain access to the spell fire shield with a range of 30ft, meaning that for you this spell can be cast on others. This spell can be cast once per long rest without expending a spell slot. This can be recast with a spell slot.

In addition, anytime you perform your song of rest by controlled flame such as a campfire or fireplace, everyone resting recovers from one level of exhaustion. This benefit can only be received once per dawn by any person.

Pyro Opera

14th-level College of Flames feature

You now have the ability to absorb some of the adverse effects of fire, thanks to your exposure to the magic of the elemental planes.

As a reaction when you suffer fire damage, you may instead take no damage and regain hit points equal to half the damage total. This feature is usable once per long rest.

In addition, whenever you roll the maximum damage on one of your damage die for fire bolt or hellish rebuke you regain a bardic inspiration. This is limited to one bardic regained per spell cast.
