Base Class: Druid
Druids who choose to stand at the front lines of the battle against unnatural threats, who put themselves between the forces of darkness and innocent lives, join the Circle of Selflessness. This circle grants the druid the ability to enter a powerful Protector Form, with enhanced martial and magical abilities, giving them the power needed to stand in the face of overwhelming evils. Druids who follow this calling commune with extraplanar entities from the heavens above, the Feywild, or the Elemental Plane; powerful forces which sense the druids resolve and grant them a small measure of their power. These forces become known as your Power Source.
Your alignment determines the Power Source of your Protector Form. Lawful druids draw from the Celestial skies, to guide others to safety. Neutral druids tap into the Feywild to enrapture and befuddle their foes. Chaotic druids summon the power of the Elemental Plane, shaping the forces of nature with their willpower. Only druids of good alignments may choose this specialization.
Protector Form
When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you gain the ability to summon powerful armor, granting you extra abilities.
As a bonus action, by expending one of your Wild Shape uses, you may summon the Protector Regalia of your defined Power Source. This ethereal armor covers your existing gear, and can take any form you choose, though is usually based on the ideals of your Power Source. While active, your Protector Regalia grants you increased durability, allowing you to add your proficiency modifier to your armor class.
This ability does not restrict your spellcasting in the same way Wild Shape does.
Protector Form lasts for 1 hour, or you may end it early by using a bonus action to dismiss it. Protector Form automatically ends if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die.
Protector's Arms
When summoning your Protector Regalia, you may also summon one weapon of your choosing. For as long as your Protector Form lasts, you are considered proficient with this weapon, and may substitute your Wisdom modifier for the weapon's usual ability. The weapon disappears if it is separated from your hands for more than one round, or your Protector Form ends.
This ability can extend to any magical weapon you are attuned to, and will retain all of that weapon's original qualities.
Signature Spell
Starting at 6th level, you select one of the following spells as your Signature Spell, based on your Power Source:
Celestial: Guiding Bolt, Moonbeam, Call Lightning
Fey: Faerie Fire, Hold Person, Hypnotic Pattern
Elemental: Burning Hands, Flaming Sphere, Wind Wall
While in Protector Form, you may double your proficiency bonus for all attack rolls and saving throws related to this spell. This spell counts as a druid spell for you, is always prepared, and does not count against your prepared spell limit. You may change your Signature Spell to another spell on this list any time you finish a long rest.
Additionally, at 12th level, the list of available spells grows to include:
Celestial: Sunbeam, Chain Lightning
Fey: Confusion, Dominate Person
Elemental: Wall of Fire, Freezing Sphere
Self-Sacrifice
At 10th level, as an action while in Protector Form, you may spend a spell slot of any level you possess to grant temporary HP to any friendly creatures of your choosing within 60 ft equal to five times the level of the spell slot.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your charisma modifier (minimum 1), and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Final Attack
At 14th level, you may execute a powerful final attack. As an action, you may choose to expend all your Protector Form energy to cast your Signature Spell at the highest level you know, without expending a spell slot.
Once you use this ability, your Protector Form ability ends, and you may not use it again until you complete a long rest.
