Monk
Base Class: Monk

Scholarly warriors seeking a path to consecution, these monks use dunamis to summon echos of themselves from alternate timelines, realizing potential they would have gained had they chosen a different path. Cloaked in thier shadowy reflections, they unleash a flurry of darkness across the battlefield.

Shadowy Reflections

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can call on dissonant versions of yourself from different timelines to assist you in your own. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast Mirror Image. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. When you have at least 1 duplicate active you gain the following abilities:

  •  The Scholar. Your Scholar can shroud you in darkness. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to cast Darkness on yourself, without providing material components.
  •  The Warrior. Your Warrior self is always keenly aware of your surroundings. You have blindsight with a range of 15 feet. Within that range, you can effectively see anything that isn't behind total cover, even if you're blinded. Moreover, you can see an invisible creature within that range, unless the creature successfully hides from you.
  • The Martyr. Your Martyr will throw itself in front of an attack directed at another. When another creature within 15 feet of you is targeted by an attack, before the attack roll is made, you can use your reaction and roll a d20 to determine whether the attack instead targets one of your duplicates. You must roll an 11 or higher to change the attack’s target to a duplicate. If the attack is a ranged weapon attack, your may forego rolling a d20 and destroy your duplicate to deflect, but not catch, the missle. If a duplicate is destroyed as a result of this reaction, you cannot use this ability again until you cast Mirror Image.

Echos of Each Other

At 6th level, your variant selves can work together to guide your actions. You gain the following abilities:

  • Ki-Fueled Might. Your Scholar will compell your Warrior to attack beside you. If you have at least 1 duplicate active after you spend 1 ki point or more as part of your action on your turn, you can make two attacks with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon as a bonus action before the end of the turn.
  • Armor of Light. Your Warriors resolve to defend you is bolstered by your Martyrs death. If you have only 1 duplicate active, you can add your Wisdom modifier to the AC of your duplicate.
  • Remembrance of The Luxon. Your Martyr can harness the power of your Scholar to aid those around you. When you lose your last duplicate or when your use your action to dismiss your duplicates, you can use your reaction to cast Beacon of Hope without expending a spell slot. Once you use this benefit, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Shadows In The Dark

At 11th level, you can have a darkness descend upon your enemies that erodes the veil between realities and timelines, paralyzing those within as they gaze upon shadowy reflections of themselves. As an action on your turn, you can spend 4 ki points to cast Darkness, without providing material components. Each target in the affected area must make a Wisdom saving throw and on a failed save the target takes psychic damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier and becomes paralyzed until the end of thier next turn. On a successful save it takes half as much damage and doesn't become paralyzed. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Resonant Echo

At 17th level, your experience with dunamancy allows you to explore the possibilities of what could potentially occur, were you to choose multiple paths simultaneously. Immediately after casting Mirror Image, you can use a bonus action to magically manifest an echo of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within 15 feet of you. This echo is a shadowy reflection of you that lasts until it is destroyed, until you dismiss it as a bonus action, until you manifest another echo, or until you're incapacitated.

Your echo has AC 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier, 1 hit point, and immunity to all conditions. If it has to make a saving throw, it uses your saving throw bonus for the roll. It is the same size as you, and it occupies its space. On your turn, you can mentally command the echo to move up to 30 feet in any direction (no action required). If your echo is ever more than 30 feet from you at the end of your turn, it is destroyed.

  • Immediately after casting Darkness, or as a bonus action when you and your echo are both in darkness, you can teleport, magically swapping places with your echo at a cost of 15 feet of your movement, regardless of the distance between the two of you.
  • When you take the Attack action on your turn, any attack you make with that action can originate from your space or the echo's space. You make this choice for each attack. Additionally, if the attacks granted by Ki-Fueled Might each target different creatures, you can make one additional attack with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon from the echo's position.
  • When a creature that you can see within 5 feet of your echo moves at least 5 feet away from it, you can use your reaction to make an opportunity attack against that creature as if you were in the echo's space. Additionally, The Martyr can be triggered from the echo's space using your echo instead your duplicate.

Additionally, you can use your action to spend 5 ki points to cast Mislead . Once you cast this spell, you cannot cast it again until you finish rest.
