Bard
Base Class: Bard

Lady Luck is a fickle mistress, sometimes she giveth and sometimes she taketh away. Bards that study the advanced techniques of the College of Providence try to make sure that she giveth far more often.

These bards revel in the sheer randomness of the universe and can’t help but fiddle with it whenever possible. Bending luck to ones will is a rewarding, if not dangerous game. Bards of the College of Providence can’t help but play this game to their favor.

These performers travel from town to town as both purveyors and players of games of chance, winning more than they lose. Among their companions, these bards are known to walk in an almost palpable halo of good fortune. It takes true talent to turn the undetermined to the advantageous.

Strings of Fate

When you join the college at 3rd level, you learn to play a melody so in tune with the song of creation that you can improve your odds. When making an ability check, you can lower the difficulty of the check by 5. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Shifting Balance

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to shift the tides of fortune to your favor. When you cast a spell that requires a creature to make a saving throw, that creature automatically fails the saving throw. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Tough Luck

Fortune favors the bold and your actions inspire resolve in others. At 6th level, when a creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die from you drops to 0 hit points but is not killed outright, they can drop to 1 hit point instead. They can only use this ability once per Bardic Inspiration die. Additionally, while they have the die, they cannot be critically hit.

Lucky Streak

Your performances have a chance to breed further success for your allies. Starting at 6th level, when a creature adds one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to its ability check, attack roll, or saving throw and the roll equals your proficiency bonus, the creature can keep the Bardic Inspiration die.

The creature can also spend one hit dice. They can roll the die, add their Constitution modifier, and regain a number of hit points equal to the total (minimum of 1).

Kismet

Your success is contagious and can inspire luck in others. When you reach 14th level, you can expend a Bardic Inspiration dice allowing you or another creature to reroll an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. The new roll replaces the old one.
