Base Class: Fighter
While most fighters excel when rising above the odds, some fall behind and succumb to the oncoming threat. However, those who adapt to that threat find a newfound strength in the face of odds beyond them. That is where the Revenger is at home, fighting while backed into a corner, retaliating with bided fury.
Revenge
3rd-level Revenger feature
You’ve grown familiar with the feeling of being overwhelmed, but you’ve learned how to turn the tides in your favor. Whenever a creature deals damage to you, that creature becomes the target of your revenge. Until the end of your next turn, you deal additional damage equal to a roll of your Revenge Die, the size of which is determined by your level in this class. If you roll a 1 on the Revenge Die, it increases one size as you preserve your revenge, however if you roll the highest number on the Revenge Die, it decreases by one size as you release your pent up Revenge. If your Revenge Die is a d4 and you roll a 4, your Revenge Die becomes nothing until you take damage again, which resets your die to it’s base value.

Counter Attack
3rd-level Revenger feature
Even when backed into a corner, you can muster the strength you need to fight back. Whenever a creature deals damage to you, you can use a reaction to halve the damage you take, as you put up your guard. If the creature is within range, you can make an attack against that creature as part of this reaction.
You can use this feature an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Retributive Fury
7th-level Revenger feature
Through intense patience, you’ve mastered the ability at timing your retaliation for when it would be most effective. Whenever you take the attack action against a creature that you can deal Revenge damage to, you can use a bonus action to make another attack against that creature at advantage. If you hit, you deal an additional Revenge Die to the creature.
Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest or you expend a fighter hit die to use it again.
Reversal
10th-level Revenger feature
Through the punishment you endure, you’ve learned to capitalize on even a moments hesitation. If a creature misses you with an attack roll or you succeed on a saving throw caused by that creature, your attacks against that creature critically hit on a 19-20 until the end of your next turn.
Adrenaline Surge
15th-level Revenger feature
Used to being dealt a losing hand, you’ve learned how to bounce back and return the punishment. Whenever you use your Action Surge, you gain an amount of temporary hit points equal to a roll of your Revenge Die. Additionally, if you use the action granted to you by your Action Surge to take the attack action against a creature that you can deal Revenge damage to, you can make an additional attack as part of the attack action as long as that creature is the target of your attack.
Backed into the Corner
18th-level Revenger feature
You’ve accustomed the pressure of being beaten into the corner, giving you experience in protecting yourself from being overcome. While you have half your hit point maximum or less, you gain resistance to all damage.
