Monk
Base Class: Monk

With the power of Ki and Anime on your side, none can stop you. Loom over the rest, be the best (monk)!

This is an attempt to drastically buff the monk to make them on par with the defensive and offensive capabilities of a Paladin and other Classes. Monks deserve to shine, even in optimized play and high levels where they seem to suffer the most. This my attempt to make them seem as cool as beans, and make them seem similar to the many myths and pop culture they are no doubt influenced by. It also steals some ideas from Treantmonk.

Warriors of myth and legend, Monks are those who utilize and cultivate life force to empower themselves in the form of inhuman feats and godly powers. Whether they are the disciplined protectors of a monastery or the students of a specific way of teaching or ideal, none are to be trifled with.

Ki Powered Warrior

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you acquire these benefits:

- You gain access to all simple and martial weapon and armor Proficiencies as well as shields, and can use any of them as a Monk Weapon.
- You gain bonus Ki Points equal to your WIS Modifier, and you gain additional Hit Points each level up equal to your WIS Modifier.
- You gain Proficiency in Athletics and Acrobatics. When attempting to grapple, you may use your Acrobatics to grapple the target instead of Athletics.

Fury Of The Life Bender

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your enemy’s ki when you harness your own. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:

- It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
- It must make a Strength saving throw. If it fails, you can push it up to 15 feet away from you.
- It can’t take reactions until the end of your next turn.

One With Ki

At 6th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself. As an action, you can regain hit points equal to three times your monk level. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.

When a creature within 10 feet of you is reduced to 0 hit points or dies, you siphon some of their ambient life force, allowing you to regain hit points equal to your WIS Modifier while also regaining 1 Ki Point.

Mighty Ki

You can now use Stunning Strike on any Attack using any weapon, not just unarmed strikes. When a creatures rolls a Saving Throw against Stunning Strike, they do so with Disadvantage.

When a creature becomes Stunned as a result of your Stunning Strike, all your next attacks against that creature are made with Advantage so long as the creature remains Stunned by you.

Ascension

Your Ki empowers you further. Using 1 Ki Point as a Reaction, you may gain a Flying Speed equal to your Movement Speed for 1 minute. As part of this Reaction, you may also teleport anywhere within 60 feet of you that you can see.

If you are Charmed or Frightened when you start your turn, you can choose to no longer be Charmed or Frightened. If you do this, you cannot use your Action for that turn.

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying weight and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. You also gain Expertise in Athletics and Acrobatics.

One With The Wind

When you use your Reaction to reduce damage from falling, you instead take no damage.

If you are Prone, you can use your inhuman reflexes to spend 5 feet of Movement to stand up instead of half of your Movement.

Life Bending Champion

At 17th level, you gain the ability to set up lethal vibrations in someone’s body. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 3 ki points to start these imperceptible vibrations, which last for a number of days equal to your monk level. The vibrations are harmless unless you use your action to end them. To do so, you and the target must be on the same plane of existence. When you use this action, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw. If it fails, it is reduced to 0 hit points. If it succeeds, it takes 10d10 necrotic damage. If the creature is still alive after taking this damage, you have advantage on all attacks against that creature until it is reduced to 0 Hit Points.

You can have only one creature under the effect of this feature at a time. You can choose to end the vibrations harmlessly without using an action.

When you use your Reaction to gain a Flying Speed, you no longer need to spend 1 Ki Point in order to do so.

Overcharged Warrior

Your Mystical Powers manifest into their ultimate form. Your Strength, Dexterity, and Wisdom Scores increase by 4. Your maximum for those Scores is now 24.
