Bard
Base Class: Bard

The songs of the Beast Singers draw the animals to their side and to their cause. Expect those who take up the call of Beast Singing to enter battle with an array of animals and more bursting from the pages of their songs.

Call of the Wild

3rd-level College of Beast Singers feature

Your songs are attuned to the animals of nature and they come when you call. You learn the Find Familiar spell, which doesn’t count against the number of spells you know.

Songs of Nature's Warriors

3rd-level College of Beast Singers feature

You have created songs from the essence of captured creatures to summon them to your side when you need them the most. You create a special songbook, which can be used as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

When you gain this ability, choose a CR 1 beast. You gain a Song Page for that creature, a special magical song that can summon a companion to aid you in battle. This Song Page is contained in your songbook and can be used so long as you have your songbook on your person. Whenever a beast you can see within 60 feet of you is reduced to 0 hit points, you may use your reaction to save an imprint of the creature on a blank Song Page in your songbook. You may only use this reaction if:

1) The creature was not summoned
2) The creature's CR is less than or equal to half your bard level (rounded up)

Over the course of a long rest, you can use 100gp worth of magical inks and an imprint saved in a blank page to create a Song Page of the imprinted creature, giving you access to the creature for summoning.

As an action on your turn, you can spend up to two uses of Bardic Inspiration to sing words from your song pages to summon creatures. Roll a bardic inspiration die for each use of bardic inspiration spent. You summon a number of creatures from your Song Pages up to your proficiency modifier into empty spaces within 30 feet of you, with a combined CR less than or equal to the total of your roll. You must have a separate Song Page for each creature summoned. These creatures remain summoned until their hit points are reduced to zero, you use this ability again, or after 1 hour has passed.

Song Within The Heart

3rd-Level College of Beast Singers feature

Once you begin singing the songs of nature, you can never be rid of them, as connecting to nature causes you to sing a new song within your heart. After you finish a long rest, you can summon a creature you have a Song Page for without spending Inspiration. When summoned this way, this creature remains summoned until you change your choice for this feature after a long rest, or until its hit points are reduced to zero. Also, while this creature is summoned, it's Song Page is in use and therefore can't be used to summon another creature via Songs of Nature's Warriors

Enchanted Summoning

6th-level College of Beast Singers feature

You learn to infuse your summoned creatures with more of the magic contained within your songs. Attacks made by creatures you have summoned via Songs of Nature's Warriors are considered magic for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical weapons and attacks.

Resonance of Song

6th-Level College of Beast Singers feature

You learn to resonate your songs with more kinds of living creatures to save the imprints of their souls in your songbook. At 6th level, choose one of the following types of creature: Aberration, Celestial, Dragon, Elemental, Fey, Monstrosity, Ooze, or Plant. You can now save imprints of creatures of that type, using the same rules as detailed in Songs of Nature's Warriors.

At 10th Level, and again at 14th Level, you may choose an additional creature type from the list to gain access to the ability to save their imprints.

Perfection of Melody

14th-level College of Beast Singers feature

Your time listening to the songs of the creatures around you has given you insights into how to harness the melodies that seem beyond you. Whenever a creature with greater CR than half your bard level (rounded up) is reduced to 0 hit points, if it meets every other requirement for saving an imprint (Described in Songs of Nature's Warriors and Resonance of Song), you may spend a bardic inspiration to attempt to save the imprint. Roll your bardic inspiration die, and if the creature's CR is less than or equal to half your bard level (rounded up) plus the result of your roll, you successfully save the imprint of the creature to a blank Song Page. Otherwise, you fail to save the imprint, but regain the spent bardic inspiration.
