Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Some rogues like to keep things close and personal. They sharpen their skills like a fine blade, learning how to compensate for the short range of daggers with skill and wits, allowing for usage that could not be done with more "proper" combat weapons.

Inverted Grip Technique

While dual wielding daggers, you gain the following benefits:

  • You can make grappling actions as a bonus action, without the need of a free hand, and can use Dexterity (acrobatics) checks instead of Strength (athletics) check when making a grappling action or trying to keep a creature grappled. You can only grapple a single creature at a time this way.
  • You have climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and gain Advantage on Dexterity (acrobatics) checks made to climb onto bigger creatures and to keep yourself from being knocked off when climbing.
  • You can use your Sneak Attack against grappled targets even if you don't have advantage on the attack roll, but not if you have disadvantage on it.

Short Blade Specialist

Starting at 9th level, you know how to use daggers better in combat, while not as powerful as other one-handed weapons, you learn how to use them in versatile and lethal ways.

While dual-wielding daggers, you gain the following benefits:

  • You can use two daggers as if they were thieves' tools.
  • While grappling a creature, you can use both hands to attack, as long as half (rounded down) of the attacks is made against the grapple creature.
  • You have advantage on checks to keep up to two daggers hidden in your clothes.
  • The range of daggers you throw is increased by 15 ft.

Retaliation

By 13th level, your reflexes combined with your technique with light blades allows you to do impressive feats:

  • Whenever an ally is targeted by a non-spell attack, you can try to intercept it, or distract the one attempting to make said attack. To do so, you use your reaction to make an attack roll with a dagger contesting the enemy's attack roll. If your attack roll is higher than the enemy's attack roll, the enemy's attack misses.
  • Whenever a creature misses an attack made against you, you can use your reaction to make a melee or thrown attack with a dagger against the attacker within range.

Dagger Master

When you reach 17th level, you become a master at using daggers in combat.

While dual-wielding daggers, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have 2 reactions available per round of combat.
  • You have advantage on initiative rolls.
